"They are terrific!" - Mick Peat, on Radio Derby, Nov 08 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I have now seen 'Waltzers & Wonders twice and can't wait to see it again. The construction of the show and it's performance is first class. In the publicity it says 'Nine of Derbyshire's Finest take you on magical music tour of the fair.' and it delivers just that. Beautiful performances by every member of the company bring the fairground alive. Every song is a gem, and there are few monologues as well." - Dave Carless, Promoter, April 09

"For ninety minutes the audience are enthralled – the nine singers and musicians who form The Ram Company are superb and clearly enjoy performing the work, which is also enhanced by pictures on a giant screen to accompany many of the songs. Even the beer at the interval had a fairground theme and was by the Fun Fair Brewing Company, appropriately enough from Ilkeston!" - Neil Calladine, The Showmen's Gild, November 2008 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “What a joyful sound that is! Lovely accordion playing from Doug Eunson and the band is the Ram Company from the Derby area – a new outfit comprising the best of the region’s players!” - Verity Sharp, Late Junction, 5th Nov 08.
We’d like to tell you about our exciting new show “Waltzers and Wonders – The Wakes is in Town”.
It's a musical journey around the fairground, 90 minutes long and is a song cycle including some narration and audio visual material.
There are Derbyshire references but the material is largely very English in feel. The music and songs are performed by the Derbyshire-based RAM Company, a 9-piece band including Keith Kendrick, Sylvia Needham, Cross o’th’ Hands and BandAnglo, and ex-members of RamsBottom, Muckram Wakes, The Druids and Tiger Moth are also included in the line-up. The production is supported by John Tams and Mick Peat.
We had a great time at the Derby Traditional Music and Arts Festival in 2008 where we launched the band, the show, and the new album. We're putting together a tour for the show over the next 18 months, and looking for festival organisers or theatres that would be interested in booking it.
The full album is now available at most decent outlets or online from our website - www.ramcompany.co.uk . We hope you love it as much as we do!!
