Sprawling from the gutters of urban Melbourne in late 2007, The Ransome Brothers have united the children of the damned and the dangerous in the process of creating their very own brand of sonic cacophony. Featuring members of Rocket Science (Roman Tucker), The Dead South (Mickey Heartbreak) and fronted by an untamed, vivacious vixen (Screamin’ Mimi), 2008 has seen the band record and release their debut album and perform a string of chaotic and primal live sets.
The “Whiskey Set” album (produced by Paul Maybury of Rocket Science) was released in June 2008 through Off The Hip Records and has already won them praises from both the Melbourne music community and music press. The record boasts soulful melodic wails of heartbreak and long lost love affairs, backed with a 60’s grinding organ, piercing sonic guitar hooks and freakbeat-fused drums and is recorded in the vain of their manic live show.
