The Rant debuted on July 24, 2007 with a short and very bland 3 minute podcast that had no show title. It wasn't until the 2nd episode where show got it's name and feel. Double A began doing these short podcasts due to the popularity of The Impact Players Podcast which had debuted 7 months earlier. However, the show did not hit it's stride until November 2007 when the show added a new voice. Lexicon owned The Wrestling Revolution and began producing his own series of podcasts in September. But after 6 weeks of struggling to get the show on the air, Double A approached Lexicon about merging the 2 shows. And they did just that.
Shortly before Thanksgiving 2007, Double A and Lexicon started to share hosting duties of The Rant alternating every week. When ratings and listeners started to go up, so did the show's production value. In January 2008, while still not having a secure time slot, The Rant began airing LIVE on Nowlive.com. And when they settled in on Thursday Nights, got themselves a theme song, the rest as they call it, was history.
Now on Podomatic, Nowlive, iTunes, and streamed on 4 separate MySpace profiles, The Rant continues to stride into bigger heights. In March, the show went from 1 hour to 2 hours every week LIVE. While the show has it's regular cast of characters, goofy stories about everything including food, and odd awkward moments, Double A and Lexicon still enjoy the wrestling aspect of it.
ABOUT THE HOSTS:
- DOUBLE A
*CO-HOST, CREATOR, & EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Born on July 13, 1982 in Hollywood, Florida, Double A has been a life long wrestling fan. His older brother was a fan and watched Georgia Championship Wrestling on TBS. DA's earliest memory of wrestling goes back WCW Clash of the Champions X: Texas Shootout on February 6, 1990. On that night, Sting was kicked out of The Four Horsemen. And later in the night, when Sting was to get revenge on Ric Flair during his match, he suffered a severe knee injury putting him out of action for 6 months. Of course he returned on July 7, 1990 at WCW The Great American Bash to beat Ric Flair to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the 1st time.
Double A prides himself on having a vast knowledge on the history of wrestling. He isn't shy also about expressing his dislikes in the wrestling business. Especially when it comes to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. In 1998, he would start a 10 year run maintaining a variety of wrestling sites and forums in providing everything from news and results, to entrance themes and videos.
Double A's favorite food is a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and can often be heard talking about them on the show.
- LEXICON
*CO-HOST & DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH OPERATIONS
Bio coming soon.....
- EddaDrama
*CO-HOST
Bio coming soon.....
- MStar
*CO-HOST
Born October 26th 1984 in Portsmouth, England. He has been a fan since 1988.
He watched Hogan vs Warrior at WrestleMania.
He saw both Harts win King of the Ring
He saw Shawn Michaels win 2 Rumbles and a Boy-hood Dream come True win at WrestleMania 12.
He believes that wrestling, at the very least should make sense. Wrestler's shouldn't run the programming. And... That you don't have to be BIG to be talented.
The earliest memory that Mstar has of wrestling was a British Wrestling event that saw Big Daddy vs Giant Haystacks. That event also showcased a young up and coming team called The British Bulldogs (David Smith and The Dynamite Kid).
Mstar has been a loyal WWE/F fan all his life. Although, he did watch WCW along with WWE/F during the MONDAY NIGHT WARS.
Mstar said it before and he'll say again here, "I eat, sleep and breath this business. When you wake in the morning and you think about your family, your job or even you kids, I'm eating, sleeping, breathing and even dreaming about this buisness."
Mstar's favorite pizza toping is jalapeno pepper's. He also enjoys a good CRUMPET and a spot of BLOODY good tea.
