The world renowned Therapy Sessions began as a flagship event held at Herbal in Londons East End in 2003. It has since grown to include regular events in Bristol, Austria, Germany, Holland, Estonia, Spain, and Russia, with more on the way !! In the UK, every second Wednesday in Bristol, and every Third in London, Anger Management hosts a roster of heavy hitters. Artists such as Dylan, Technical Itch, Loxy, Ink, Limewax, Skitty, SPL, Raiden, Bkey, Kryptic Minds, and others from the Anger stable regularly slay an intimate, eclectic and friendly crowd, with the best dark, fresh and experimental drum and bass the scene has to offer! The nights also hosts special guests from the UK such as Andy C, Bailey, Goldie, Pendulum, Red One, Storm and Trace, as well as international DJs Panacea,Concord Dawn, Counterstrike, Dieselboy, Evol Intent, Hive, Mason, John Rolodex and MCs Armanni, Jakes, Messinian, Manikular, Stirlin, System and more!
In London, the upstairs Boom Boom Room is hosted by our special hostess with the most-ess resident, Ayah (Lucky Devil Recs. / Slinky Fix), and our lovely lads Mattrick & XO (DOA, Beta Recs.) You can find them playing some of the best hip hop, reggae, dub, breaks, ska (anything they have in their little box of tricks) for your listening pleasure. You can also catch a host of the top DnB names playing alternative sets of other genre's they love (Dylan and Robyn Chaos play Rock, Hardcore, Riotgurrl, or Eighties/Electro; Loxy and Ink play Hip Hop/Reggae; Raiden likes a bit of Oi Punk!). In Bristol, the second room is hosted by our local drum and bass website, Hijack, with alternating sets from Dylan and the Hijack Hoochies, and Robyn Chaos and the Hijack Hunks!! Our Second rooms always strike the perfect balance of styles, and a place to just relax, have a drink and dance to some tracks we all know and love! (or know and pretend to hate, but are too drunk to care - and besides you haven't heard them in a while!)
Therapy was launched in 2003, after a general feeling that Englands capital was lacking a bit of the variety that drum and bass had to offer. Since the scene became much more international, and more varied, many people enjoying many genre's, supporters were also expressing a need for events catering to darker and more experimental sounds. Therapys aim was to provide both top UK talent midweek in a personal and warm atmosphere, as well as showcasing some of the best DJs and MCs from all corners of the globe. Therapy Sessions host amazing line ups for a very reasonable price thanks to the generosity and support of the artists, other UK DJ agencies and labels! Therapy also is streamed live on Bass Drive (www.bassdrive.com) every month, infiltrating bedrooms and living rooms across the continents.
Plans for the future are to simply keep adding something more for our audiences. To make the experience and the night as enjoyable as possible for all, and to keep the music appreciated is the only real purpose. There are countless countries getting involved all over Europe, as well as plans for Therapy tours in Australia/New Zealand, Therapy Asia, Therapy USA, and bigger, weekender events in the UK.
Anger Management is happy to provide London with a monthly base for the nastiest, dirtiest dark drum and bass the World has to offer, in the most creative and unique of environments. We have spread the aural slaughter to our residencies (so far!) in Vienna, Hamburg, Leuven, Tallinn, Rotterdam and Spain!! This is the first time line ups like these have been so accessible on a regular basis on a night that, no matter in which country the event is held, seriously feels like a grouping of close friends! Berlin-based producer Robot Koch is a busy man. Between producing and touring with electronic mash-up trio Jahcoozi, the man-machine recently launched his own label, Robots Don't Sleep, with the release of Aftershocks, a collaboration with Japan-based musician Cerebral Vortex.
Robot Koch's productions have been released on a variety of labels including Ninja Tune, Up My Alley, Kitty-Yo and Sugarcane. These two tracks are a welcome injection of hip hop that Planet Terror has been begging for since day one.
Wooohaaaaa!!! Braindrop is throwing its very first boat party on Saturday 6 June.
The vessel is specially equipped to hold large groups of people (and all the extra bass bins we can squeeze on). Her name is The Dutch Master and she be a mighty fine boat too!
It's going to be a ridiculously fun rinse up. However, if you think you can get away with being remotely serious and/or cool at this party - ye be mistaken. The Braindrop Boat Rave is fancy dress: Pirate's from the 80's. Arrgh...better get thinkin what ye gonna wear.
