Sounds Like
Someone spent a lot of time by themself in their home studio.
Therapy Session was started by singer/songwriter Joel Michalak. The band is based out of the Los Angeles area. There are guest that visit and a few regulars, but Joel has remained the core of the band, writing, recording and performing almost all the instruments himself. Therapy Session's sound is influenced by the angsty early 90's grunge and alternative movement as well as the more intimate, confessional songwriting style you would find in the folk genre. Therapy Session combines raw distorted guitars with melodic violins, piano's and vocals. A song can range from the simple strumming an acoustic guitar to a chaotic orchestration of distortion and string arrangements.

You know Joel, You really should be sending me CD's so that I can preach about you more efficiently. It's like you don't even care! Also I really like your girl kárin tatoyan. SHe should send me music too. Shame on both of you!
Things were pretty sucky for a while, not gonna lie. A really messy breakup from a less-than-stellar relationship, but friends are always there for support, you know? Lately, I've been on a mission to get the most out of life and my summer and enjoy the simple things. Gotta admit, your music helps keep me focused and I can always leave it looping in the background. I've also been working a couple novels and a friend and I were toying with a screen play idea, so hopefully we can let our own art pulse flow.
I'm hoping all your ventures work out and I cannot wait for the album release. Just make sure you bring your sound to the northeast :P
We left around 10, so maybe four or five songs in. We had to be somewhere at 10:30 - but we made an appearance and had fun for the short bit we stayed. :]
Thank you for the magic last night, gentlemen. Three very talented lads, led by the Birthday Boy Supreme. Shame on those who couldn't make it for silly reasons. *wags finger*
Hey Joel! Just dropping you a note to tell you that I am having an awesome e.p. release party at the Echo Curio this Sunday, April 5th at 9pm. Hope you can make it!
