About THE RAVINES

Singer / songwriter Chris Corney (vocals/guitar) and James Crossley (drums) met in 1999 while playing in Peterborough new wave band 'The Contrast' and both appear on the band's critically acclaimed debut 'Mystery1'

They decided to form a band to perform Chris' ever growing catalogue of songs - and recorded their debut album 'Manifesto of a broken heart' in late 2005. This was heard by Complete/Universal music who subsequently offered them a publishing deal.

The band's sound of crisp harmonies and hook laden tunes has been likened to that of The Smithereens, Gin Blossoms and Crowded House. Now in Spring 2009 they are about to go into the studio to record their long awaited follow up album.. watch this space.
