The Moans Return!
11 years after the emotional final show, Joe, Chris and JD have confirmed that The Moans will be getting back together in some way, shape or form.
Originally formed in a garage in Gloucester in 1996, with the aim of getting the music of the Ramones heard, the band produced three tapes and performed regularly, including the now legendary King In A Bed Show, before calling it a day in July 1997.
The band recorded Zippy On TV in November 1996, before appointing Andy Moaner as bassist and Gaz as singer and Dave Fry on percussion. Before the end of January, however Andy Moaner and Dave Fry had both left the band, meaning that JD took up the bass and Joe manned the drums. It was with this line up that the band released limited edition demo tapes, Raymoans Go Home, Raymoans - Live at Chequers and Ev’rybody’s ’Appy.
In June 97, Gaz left the band and after playing one last show without him, Chris, JD and Joe called it a day before all moving away from Gloucester.
In the summer of 2000 the three briefly re-united as The Moondogs, recorded a collection of 15 songs, purely for their own entertainment. Joe Ray since went on to form The Rockitts, and then the next big thing in British music - The Breakdowns. JD continued to write songs as The Crippens, whilst Chris went into semi retirement!
Now, the band have announced that they are to reform and get moaning again!
