High Technology Press Reviews
High Technology is lo-fi rock'n'roll in its most honourable tradition. Beat Magazine 25 June 2008 (Melbourne)
It's high-powered pop with truckloads of melodic energy and it only takes a couple of spins to get hooked. i94 Bar - 4.5 bottles (Sydney)
High Technology just thumps along with confidence and a swag of great Aussie rock n' roll tunes. Forte magazine (Geelong)
Accomplished and rocking, the retro-rock vibe they have got happening is trés chic rather than tongue-in-cheek. The Mercury – 4 Stars (Hobart)
A damned nice garage rock record. The Reactions don't let up for a second but are also melodious and play with a pop twist. http://www.planettrash.nl/ (Netherlands)
High Technology introduces the world to The Reactions and shows the high level of r'n'r in that country. http://shakingstreet.blogspot.com/ (Spain)
High Technology was also on the 3PBS (Melbourne) tipsheet for 10 March 2008 and an Edge Radio (Hobart) Recommended release 24 March 08.
The Reactions are a nifty little rock'n'roll band from Hobart, Tasmania. Sometimes they get lucky and play gigs with proper bands such as The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs, The Black Keys, The Living End, The Greenhornes, Jebediah, The Hard Ons, The Drones, The Mess Hall and Rocket Science. Usually they just gig for kicks with people around town who also have bands. Besides what's more fun than playing in a band with your mates on a Friday night?
They've done a bunch of other pleasant activities such as release music on US record label compilations, had airplay on European and American radio in addition to National (JJJ) and Community radio in Australia, been invited to do live radio performances around Australia, survived a handful of tours to the big island and even got a mention in the Rolling Stone Yearbook 2004.
They have released one full length album (A Three Piece Band Called..., 2004) and one split EP (Isolation Breeds Strange Creatures, 2005) through Reverberation Records. Their second album, High Technology was released in March 2008 through Off The Hip records in Melbourne.
High Technology even got an Honourable Mention in the top 10 records of 2008 over at Australias premier garage blog/site the I94 Bar.

If the Stems and the Hoodoo Gurus came from Tasmania and were cousins, would they have a child like this?"

Hey The Reactions, It's a Psychobilly freakout..... We're back for another BIG night of Psycho Rock'n'Roll at the Alley Cat Bar, this time with our good friends from Melbourne 'Firebird'. We'd love it if you could get yourself along and go crazy.....!!!
We'd love you to come along to the Longley Tavern this saturday night to see Firebird (from melbourne, with members from Nekromantix and Brian Setzer orch) and ourselves. They've got an awesome outdoor stage, wood fires for keeping warm, great atmosphere and FREE entry. Only fifteen minutes out of town up through South Hobart, will be well worth the trip!
Come along and see this Sydney all girl trio rock the roof off the place, supported by 'Bone Rattlers' in our first show since the falls festival, also UK rockabilly legend J.Iscariot and local surf trio The Swelltones. This will definately be of the shows most worth seeing this year!
If you've already replied to the invite.....thanks!
The Once Overs are playing the Thurs residency in Feb at Yah Yahs. 12th, with Johnnie and the Johnnie Johnnies 19th with Chinese Burns and 26th with The Hutt River Solution. IT'S GOING TO BE ROCKIN!
