    ALTER EGO: Jörn Elling Wuttke and Roman Flügel

    1. How old are you both?Where did you grow up? Where have you two met?

    Alter Ego    : Old enough to know a lot , young enough not to know, everything...

    We both grew up in Darmstadt , near Frankfurt. We met in a very nice club / bar called "Die Goldene Krone". It was Darmstadts punk / new wave hangout with a small stage for Livebands a cinema showing movie classics and a very cool bar onthe first floor.

    2. Do you always perform together; were you ever booked separately?

    Alter Ego: Alter Ego Performs as a Duo. Roman Dj´s alone.

    3. Alter Ego, ´Transphormer´: who are you actually? Can you give a description of each other?And what kind of image do you have to the rest of the world, do you think?

    Alter Ego    :We are really gentlemen.But getting sometimes pretty mad when in contact with cool music. We don't care about our image to much …

    4.By what kind of business would your daily life be filled with, if you wouldn't have had such a musically talent?

    Alter Ego    : Enjoying listening & dancing to Music.

    5.The 17th of December you come to Amsterdam for a gig at Innercity. What kind of expectations do you have of the night (if you do)?     Do you know Amsterdam? What are you gonna spend your time with before and after the gig?

    Alter Ego    : Everytime we came to Amsterdam we had a great time !We really concentrate on soundcheck and show.When the gig runs well we listen to Sven Väths set afterwards.

    6. In Holland everyone in the scene is always overenthusiastic about the German dance scene, because it´s so innovating. Do you have an explanation why this musical innovations are flourishing especially in Germany?

    Alter Ego    : Germans enjoy good music ; )

    7.Can you both name some of your rock hero´s?

    Alter Ego    : Television , Velvet Underground , Suicide , Richard Hell ,Josef K. ,The New York Dolls , The Seeds , 13 th Floor Elevators , Psychic TV, The Ramones , Kraftwerk , NEU ! , Primal Scream , TV Personalities,James White And The Blacks etc.

    8. In some kind of interview Roman is talking about ´einem schmutzigen Openairfestival in Holland´. Which one? And what did you mean by this?

    Joern    : Ehmmm...? ask Roman. Roman: Did I ?!

    9. There have been two years in between Transphormer and your last album. What were your pursuits during this period?

    Alter Ego    : We were touring through a lot of teritorys we never went before including South America , Japan and the USA .
    Also we worked on a lot of remix exchanges for our new project "TRANSPHORMED" wich features all classic ALTER EGO remixes and mixes of "Transphormer"- Album tracks from our favorite producers by the likes of isolee , Ricardo Villalobos , Tiefschwarz etc.

    Recently we did mixes for Daft Punk and The Freeform Five wich will be released in the next weeks and a mix of Josh Winks "Higher States" we working on at the moment. We don't think to much in musical directions and our fans are openminded too.The main thing is to go out and create something with the people.

    10. Would it be a challenge to remix classical music? If yes: which work would you pick out?

    Joern    : Ask Roman. Roman: Eehmmmm, big question...

    11.While listening to any average mainstream radio station here in Holland, you hear one after the other remix, which can described as 'raping the original', as we call this in Dutch. Only made because of the money. What is your message to these music rapists?

    Alter Ego    : Don´t give up your day jobs.

    13. Do you think the new acid revival can bring back the old ´revolution feeling´ from back then?

    Alter Ego    : Maybe it's for some of the young people the same as it was for us back in the days ?

    14. Three more EP releases are planned for release this year, can you tell us a little bit more about this? Any other projects you are involved in these days? And can you actually find the time to work on all of this?

    Alter Ego    : Two more singles are scheduled.Again we feature some incredibly talented gentlemen.On the first one we have a "Daktari" remix from Matt John.He is sharing his studio with Ricardo Villalobos in Berlin and he did an amazing mix. On the flipside we have an Alter Ego Dub and a beautiful Isolee remix.The second single comes early next year and contains a Johannes Heil and an Anthony Rother "Transphormer" remix.Johannes brings his fantastic new album out on Klang Elektronik, April 2006 .

    15. What is the biggest goal in your career?

    Alter Ego    : To record the perfect track.

    16. What does your life look like within forty years?

    Alter Ego    : Still Rockin!
