Who we are:
We are The Real American Dream Team; founded in 2008. We are pro-immigration and support the DREAM Act. This is an act supported by President Elect Obama and founded by Senator Dick Durbin, both from Illinois. This act allows immigrant students with good moral character who came here before the age of sixteen and have been here for five or more years to obtain the status of Permanent Residency and continue their dreams of becoming a successful member of society. We hope this act will be passed on its second attempt in 2009 under the new United States Administration.
What we wish to accomplish:
Our main goal is to just spread the word about this act in the government and the idea of freedom to everyone. We urge you to check out the banners located in our blog and post them to your profiles, bulletins, and just tell people about the DREAM Act. It's more than just a green card to these students.

Para todas esas personas interesadas en la justicia social, esta es su oportunidad de poner su granito de Arena para ayudar a elegir a un aliado al Congreso de los Estados Unidos. Gil Cedillo es un Senador Estatal muy progresista que se esta lanzando para el Congreso para reemplazar a Hilda Solís y necesita de nuestro apoyo para continuar en su lucha representado a los grupos mas vulnerables de nuestra comunidad. Gil ha luchado arduamente para pasar una ley que permitiría darles licencias de manejo a toda la gente sin importar su estatus migratorio. El también ha trabajado muy duro para pasar el Dream Act que le permitiría a estudiantes indocumentados obtener algún tipo de ayuda financiera para que continúen con sus estudios. También ha creado leyes que expanden el acceso al cuidado medico para familias de clase trabajadora. Esas son solo algunas de las muchas cosas que Cedillo ha hecho por nuestra comunidad. Desgraciadamente hay gente que no esta contenta con ese apoyo y de esa forma, el pierde muchos votos por ayudar a gente que no tiene voz. Ahora es tiempo de que lo respaldemos. Aunque al apoyarlo, en realidad estamos haciendo algo por nosotros, por nuestras familias, por nuestros amigos, y por nuestra comunidad que tanto lo necesita; pues al estar en el Congreso, tendríamos un aliado representando a nuestra gente. We are seeking survivors, victims, advocates, organizations, or individuals who simply care about our cause to JOIN IN OUR EFFORTS!
Well, I believe that person's page was deleted. It is a good idea, the project is to send 20 postcards per week for one month to 20 senators whose position on the Dream Act we're not sure about. I have all the information, if this is something that interests you, please let me know and I'll send it to you.
Are you friends with the Dream Act postcard campaign page? If so, are you still going to be sending out postcards, I am. But, I think that persons page was deleted.
Please Call as many Senators as you can this week for the DREAM ACT - try for at least 2 phone calls a day...its something small from you that can make a huge difference in the lives of others! all you have to do is call (the list is on my bulletins) and say :
"I'm calling to ask Senator__ _______ to co-sponsor and/or vote in favor of the DREAM Act.

This website is Open for Questions. Ask our President something in regards to your concerns. And remember to vote on the DREAM ACT questions. The more votes the question, the higher on the list it goes, giving it a chance to get a response from the President. If you support it, please do it. It might take some time to find the question in regards to the DREAM ACT, but hang in there. We're all in this together.
Quick Tip: After you sign up for an account, look on the left hand side, there will be a link to questions about Education. Click. Look for DREAM ACT Questions. And vote in favor of them. We need all the help we can get. You can submit a question or vote on one till' tomorrow. Not sure what time voting closes, but do it today.
In anticipation of the bill's introduction in the next few days on March 24th, 2009 we are asking everyone to do TWO things:
• Call your Representatives and ask them to cosponsor the DREAM Act. To call contact your Representatives in the House and Senate please call the switchboard operator at 202-224-3121.
• Sign the petition which will automatically send a letter to your Members of Congress urging them to cosponsor the DREAM Act. For a PDF or DOC version see Petition.
Here is a small fragment of the speech President Obama did in Costa Mesa, CA. Although it doesn't touch on the Dream Act, it's still hope.
One little curve ball came, however, on a topic Obama rarely mentions on his own: immigration. Before a crowd that seemed divided on the emotional, politically dangerous issue, Obama said he still supports "comprehensive immigration reform."
The nation must find a way, he said, to strengthen its borders while also giving about 12 million illegal immigrants a path to possible citizenship.
"People who have been here for a long time and put down roots," he said, should have "a mechanism over time to get out of the shadows" and achieve legal status, including citizenship.
They would have to learn English, pay a significant fine and "go to the back of the line" of those applying for legal entry, he said.
The Federal Dream Act is one and the are a couple states that are promoting their own dream acts that are been introducing to state legislations that will provide state tuitions. I heard that Federal Dream Act is going to be introduce next month.
