The story from multiple points of view (with the confusion inherent to that approach--like that of The Sound And The Fury) is at www.trashfever.com. In short, we created and performed a semi-respectable body of work and had fun doing it.

Hey Charlie,
No Problemo.
There's this whole punk rock legacy,
that the snot topic crowd will most likely
never get hip to.....,
thanx to the corporate scumbags @ clear Chanel
and the like.
but us original punx..,
We know who the masters are !
Talkin' bands like Charlie Pickett & the Eggs,
Sam Mann & the Apes, Tex & the Horseheads,
Scott Goddard /Surf Punks, Naked Prey,
Caturwaul, Sex After Death, The Red Room,
(etc.) It's a short list,
but at least you cats can take pride in
the undeniable fact....,
that your video's were light years
ahead of the times,
and still hold up today as ground-breaking,
futuristic, time capsules !

HAILS !!

Somewhere back around '85, I was living the true Punk Rock Life in Southern Cal. Copped 'Cowboy Junkie
Au Go Go' on Vinyl and pretty much wore the grooves out of 'Trash Fever'
Not just me, but all the local Punx.
What a great fucking song !!
Mega-Thanx 4 The Add My Brother.
Keep On Rocking In The Free World.

Well,...here ya go, the "New Times" article I mentioned below.

Charlie Pickett, Bar Band Americanus: The Best of Charlie Pickett and...
Bloodshot Records
trashfever.com
South Florida had two kinds of rock aficionados in the '80s: those who whined about the barren wasteland before them and those who thanked their lucky stars for a musical oasis named Charlie Pickett. In reality, the scene wasn't quite that bad, but mention Pickett to a roomful of veterans, and you'll find a diverse assortment of grateful fans. Whether they liked the blues, punk, country or straight-up rock 'n' roll, there was Pickett (and various friends) grinding out a wicked set of originals and covers that pleased everyone. Thirty years down the pike, Pickett still owns the stages around town, and now he has a new anthology: Bar Band Americanus: The Best of Charlie Pickett and... It serves up a warm introduction to long-out-of-print hits and other great moments from Pickett's distinguished career as a Miami institution. It's a must-have for any local music connoisseur. Yet as great as this CD is, the fury and fun of a live Pickett show don't quite translate to vinyl or plastic. It's at the bar where it all really kicks into overdrive. Pick up this gem; then go see Pickett play.

See now, aren't I a swell guy?

Yo Charlie, I was running some errands this afternoon and stopped by a Taco Bell and someone had left a "New Times" newspaper on a table. Well it was the annual "Best of Miami" and you were mentioned in the "Best of" in the music category. It had couple of nice paragraphs about you and the "Bar Band Americanus" album. Hope ya saw it.
