David Meng, a “People Choice” winner from the Paris By Night’s Talent Show 2007. On stage, David Meng brings his finest tone to the audience. In real life, David makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome by the way he talks with his kindness. He decided to donate his entire winning prize which is $10,000 to two non-profit organizations: Sun Flower Mission Organization and Project Vietnam. He is really sincere in helping unlucky children who cannot afford to go to school. Being asked what led him to this decision, David quickly replied that he wanted to help the people who are less fortunate then he is. He feels very lucky and happy that so many people around the world voted for him and to him this is his biggest prize.
He is originally from Cambodia. He learned Vietnamese from his friends and music CDs. Growing up David listened to famous singer Tuan Vu and memorize almost all the lyrics to his songs. David started taking singing seriously and took several vocal classes during his high school year. After finishing high school, although David went to St. Cloud Technical College in Minnesota majoring in Graphic Communication, he still continued practicing vocal lessons on his own and keep his dream of becoming a singer. Several months after the Talent Show contest from Thuy Nga Paris by Night, David gets back to his normal life and still tries his best to deliver the best performance for all his fans. David Meng, a true talent who won the competition and a kind hearted person who donated his winning money to charity to help out the less fortunates deserves all the love and support from people who enjoys his music.
