Influences
Life in general (not the album... actual day to day life...that record isn't bad though!), life of the party (also a good record, but again we mean the actual party that is our life), and being broke (I don't think there's a record with that title yet...)
Sounds Like
Party Punk, Ska and Skate, and just a lil'bit of Reggae

***NEW INTERVIEW!!!***
Once in a while, a band comes along and changes the face of music. The Real Deal is indisputably NOT one of these bands…Hot damn they are fucking FUN to be around though!
Their sophomore Stomp Records release entitled “FUN” is a fitting name for the 12 tracks of what the band has come to brand as Party Punk. The record hits stores May 5th. WARNING: exposure to “FUN” may induce unexplainable binge drinking and spontaneous mosh pits.
Closing in on 350 shows across North America (since 2004), 351 hangovers (since 2008) and no gold records (to date or in the foreseeable future), The Real Deal have rocked stages with the likes of Less Than Jake, The Slackers, Millencolin, Protest The Hero, Reel Big Fish, The Planet Smashers, Gob, Set Your Goals and so many more.
Catch the band all over North America this Spring and Summer.
Amen,
Here's what some great people have had to say about The Real Deal 's last record, Hungover But Dead Sober:
"…their music is upbeat, energetic, and sure to totally spin up a frenzied mosh pit in a live setting! Not only do you get music that you can’t help but jam to, but you’ll also get hooks that will be stuck in your head for the next six weeks! With lyrics that cover any and all subjects in a tongue-in-cheek manner, there are many, many things to dig on this album! [...] be sure to check out Hungover, But Dead Sober. Album is very highly recommended!" -Jen Conrad @ away-team.com
“Hungover, But Dead Sober is exactly what a good punk album should be – full of catchy melodies, teenage angst, thought provoking insight, loud guitars, violent drums, toned vocals/lyrics, and what many bands attempt to capture on a recording but can’t – ENERGY […] it is fun and upbeat – a must have for any true punk rockers record collection wanting to escape the motonoty of the majority of music released today” -Chrisk @ stereokiller.com
“TRD have enough awareness to know what they're about, and enough cojones to fingerbang the scene at the same time” -Dave Jaffer @ The Hour, hour.ca
“Dream Girl; this song belongs in the master list of great punk rock love songs.” -Pete Crigler @ punkbands.com
“THE REAL DEAL est l’exemple même d’un groupe qui se donne coeur et âme pour sa musique” -Julien @ punkmeup.com
“Short, fun punk songs[…]I’m glad they don’t waste time adding shit that doesn’t need to be there […] They’re fucking rad, check them out.” -Jonathan Yost @ Racket Magazine, racketmag.com
“Hungover, But Dead Sober is a slice cut clean from the genre’s pie and unlikely to disappoint […]Bushido’s Way is reason enough to clean up the grill and invite the friends over for a barbecue” -Keath @ rocksellout.com
“The songs are youthful anthems of love, parties, tales of disillusionment about violence, and the state of the music industry” –Bobby Gorman @ thepunksite.com
“It’s a fuckin awesome record and if you don’t buy it, you’re a racist! –The Real Deal, therealdealhatesyou.com
