Comics
Although I no longer actively collect comics (that got a little out of hand...long story) I do have my favorites from those days.
I would have to say my absolute favorite was Marvel Comics' version of The Micronauts. Great characters, a classic good vs. evil storyline, superb writing by Bill Mantlo, and some of the coolest art throughout the series highlighted by Michael Golden who instantly became my favorite artist of all time. The second series, also by Marvel, sadly was not even close in any way.
Marvel's version of Star Wars comes in at a close second. The series had some unusual, but good stories with a few exceptions. For me, the series went spiraling down after the release of Return of the Jedi in theaters. There was nice artwork throughout the run that I had an occasional gripe about mainly due to some of the ships not quite looking like their movie counterparts. There was one particular exception to that rule...issue number 39. Featuring one of the most bizarre stories, it had incredibly beautiful art by Michael Golden. What it came down to overall with the series was classic adventure storytelling.
Beyond those two series, it's mainly individual storylines within other series and/or mini-series. Stuff like the Pheonix Saga in Uncanny X-Men, Days Of Future Past (which I have since learned from Mr. Byrne could have and in my opinion SHOULD have been rather different) also in Uncanny X-Men. The John Byrne run of The Fantastic Four. The Walter Simonson run of The Mighty Thor. The Bernie Wrightson run on the original Swamp Thing series. The Dark Horse Aliens, Predator, Aliens vs. Predator, Godzilla, & Star Wars series (for the most part, anyway...there were some real stinkers strewn throughout each). The Cholly & Flytrap stories that occasionally appeared in Marvel's Epic Illustrated. Bob Kane's original Batman stories. Batman comics of the 70s. Frank Miller's run on Daredevil. The Death Of Superman and Reign of the Supermen storylines. The Dark Knight Returns. The Ron Marz/Ron Lim run on The Silver Surfer. The Charlton Comics Space: 1999 series with art by John Byrne. The John Buscema run on Conan the Barbarian for Marvel. Practically anything by Nestor Redondo. The interesting marketing ploy by both Marvel & DC known as Amalgam Comics. Marvel Vs. DC and just about any crossover comic featuring their characters interacting. Speaking of Amalgam Comics, I think there was a missed opportunity there...how interesting would "Lobo, Herald Of Galactus" have been? What about "Bizarro-Hulk"?
Oh, and I must mention one of the most bizarre, unusual and fun comics of all time...PLOP! Great stuff. Good ol' Sergio...
Heroes
Jesus.
Wanna get to know Him? Here's a couple of good places to start...
First, you'll want to go here to gain a better understanding of His message and why we need Him in our lives.
Then here for articles to help strengthen your faith and help you understand the importance of prayer and reading the scriptures every day:
Go here to read evidence that the Bible is the Word of God.
Skeptical? Distrustful of television evangelists and those who hypocritically claim to be christian, but don't do as the Lord commanded (John 13:34,35)? Remember one simple thing...don't pass judgment on God because of the failings of men...

That Godzilla quote was from a movie "Hangover" I went with Michelle to see it cause she kept telling me how funny it was. Anyway it was pretty funny. We have been passing back the quotes & sayings through our updates and keeping our laughter rolling along.
That movie remined me a lot of a newer bachelor party movie like that one tom hanks was in years ago...just a lot more current and added language ect. The things they go through are a HOOT nonetheless!!! Adults only flick!
Pop came home last night! We are having a visiting nurse. Can you believe he had been in the hospital for over 3 months. He still looks real weak...so we are just watching him. How have you guys been?
Please help Walter Koenig, "Chekov from Star Trek TOS", Get His Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Walter has been nominated for his star and waltersstar.com has raised the money to manufacture and install the star (Thanks!). All Walter needs now is the votes of the Walk of Fame Committee. Write to the Walk of Fame Committee a polite letter in your own words, why you think Walter should have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. These NEED to be letters from each individual fan in the fan's own words. Not copies, Not form letters, Not chain letters.
