Movies
1988's "Dudes" with Jon Cryer, Daniel Roebuck, Lee Ving, Catherine Mary Stewart and Flea. It's a B-movie 80's version of "Easy Rider." It's actually a pretty bad movie with a few funny parts. But, it is a punk-rock must-see cult classic, and has an awesome soundtrack featuring an early version of Jane's Addiction's "Mountain Song." The Vandals are in the movie busting out some gold 'ole cow-punk. Directed by Penelope Spheer, of the Decline of the Western Civilization documentaries. It's out of print. If you can find on a copy (only available on VHS,) get it. It's worth the $2. -----------Others...True Romance, Sid and Nancy, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Badlands, Planet of the Apes, Less Than Zero, Harvey with Jimmy Stewart, Jenna Jameson's Dreamquest, Night of the Living Dead, Apocalypse Now, The Fisher King, The Warriors, Rock and Roll High School, Taxi Driver, Psycho, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Barfly, King Kong (70's version), The Road Warrior, V for Vendetta, Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2, The Excorcist, La Femme Nikita, This Is Spinal Tap, Star Wars (not Star Trek, you friggin geek), Boogie Nights, Trainspotting, Raising Arizona, Beavis and Butthead Do America, Grindhouse, Conan The Barbarian, The Godfather, Lolita, Unforgiven, 54, Blade Runner, The Seven Year Itch, anything Directed by Stanley Kubrick, or starring Natalie Portman. Disney's Baby Einstein series isn't too bad either. Note I didn't list "Scarface" like everyone else on Myspace. Can't get past Al Pacino's fake Columbian accent, it's pretty bad.
I am a DJ with 102.7FM WEQX, a 50,000-watt independent alternative-format commercial radio station (Manchester VT/Albany NY.) Over the years the station has been named "best radio station" by the Times Union, Metroland, and several times in Rolling Stone Magazine. It also made the euro sticker cool and put the Spin Doctors on the map. EQX is a great thing to be a part of, and it's a ton of fun. I'm the station's Local Music Director and host of the award-winning local/regional music show "EQX-Posure" Sunday nights from 7-8pm. I'm also the the "station voice"...aka "102.7 WEQX" guy (that's me between the songs.) Tune in, or listen live online...
I am the singer, guitarist, and songwriter for NY-based original rock trio Phillips Head. Since 1994, Phillips Head has bombarded the East Coast with post-punk power-pop high-energy original rock. The band has released 2 full-length albums, an acoustic "Unscrewed" EP, and a live album from NYC's legendary CBGB. A new album is in the works, and the band is currently playing top clubs and events. No, there is no one named "Phillip" in the band. It's the screwdriver angle, dum-dum. It's a real-time rock-n-roll adventure, I love it. Visit the official site for upcoming shows, free downloads, merchandise, and more.
I own and operate Party Sounds DJ Entertainment, a professional mobile DJ service for all occasions since 1988. Available for weddings, receptions, reunions, special occasions, private parties, events, clubs, etc. For your event, get a DJ with a resume boasting a 19-year professional reputation, extensive song library featuring all musical styles, and modern, great-sounding equipment. Other stuff. I write an entertainment column for The Chronicle
, a weekly Upstate NY newspaper, available free at various locations throughout the Northeast. It's called "Rock Around The Block", based on the local scene, and appears biweekly. I am available for voice-over work and make an excellent live event Host/MC too. I have a full PA and can provide inexpensive live sound for bands. I have a small recording studio located in downtown Glens Falls, available for low-cost demo recordings, A/V projects, etc.
I don't do windows.
So, as you can see, I like to keep busy. I am interested in music...I enjoy being a part of and helping to promote the local scene. There is a lot of talent in this area, and I go to a lot of concerts, clubs, and entertainment related events. I've won some awards, including Metroland Magazine's (Best Of The Capital Region 2005, 2006) "Best Locally Minded DJ" and "Best Local Celebrity You'd Like To Have A One Night Stand With." I also enjoy candlelit dinners, long walks in the park, and just holding hands with that special someone. BLECH...just kidding. You may have seen me around, or heard some crazy story. It's probably true. I have spikey hair, wear mostly jeans and t-shirts, and wear sunglasses at night because Corey Hart said it was cool. Feel free to contact me for more information on anything here. By the way, all of this may be updated, changed (or deleted) at any time, so feel free to stop by again!
If you want to send me a demo for EQX (or band t-shirt, size XL, black preferred, haha) go to the WEQX site, click "Specialty Shows" and "EQX-Posure", all the info is there. If you would like to add me to the guest list at your event, my name is "Jason Irwin +1 babe."
Thank you, goodnight.

Yo Jason, my college radio station is putting on a concert and we're looking for some rock/alt bands in the mass region that we could bring down. Any ideas?
