Mike MacQueen's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | Originally from Haifax, Mike has been performing stand up now for the past four years. He relocated to Toronto in 2005 to try to bring his career to the next level. He can be seen on multiple stages throughout the GTA performing stand up or as 1/2 of the band "The Bring Back Swayzes." | | Influences | Drugs and alcohol... oh wait, I mean God or something. | | TV Shows | Never been on tv but how about the radio?
Well I'm glad you asked- CBC Radio 1 "So you think you're funny?" (Halifax sessions) |

Mike MacQueen's Interests
|
| General | I'm interested in all things comedy. I've been performing stand up for the past 3.5 years and in my free time I draw cartoons. I also love playing guitar and listening to music...and let's not forget getting ill. who doesn't love to get ill? | | Music | no particular order: DMB, Dispatch, Mos Def, A Tribe Called Quest, Sublime,
Kanye, Throw This Away (check out their myspace- www.myspace.com/throwthisaway) Led Zepplin, Stones, G Love and the Special Sauce, Weezer, Neil Young, RHCP, Jay Z, Blind Melon, Radiohead. David Gray, Jurassic 5, Beastie Boys... the list goes on and on and on. | | Movies | I like lots of movies, far too many to list here- but if I had to pick one movie that sums up everything I stand for as a human being and best reflects my taste in cinema, I would have to say "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants."*
Oh, no wait... I meant to say "Ghandi"... yeah, "Ghandi" definitely makes me look like a better person....
*Note: This is me trying to be funny. For the record I've never actually seen "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants"... and while I'm on the record I guess I should tell you I've never seen "Ghandi" either... so I guess what I'm trying to say is I thought "Roadhouse" was a pretty cool flick... especially the part where Swayze rips that mofo's throat out with his bare hands...that was pretty badass. | | Television | Saturday Night Live, Seinfeld, My Name is Earl, Entourage, Curb your Enthusiasm, Trailer Park Boys, Chapelle's Show | | Books | LOVE ALL THE PEOPLE: Letters, lyrics, routines- Bill Hicks
THE TRIALS OF LENNY BRUCE: The fall and rise of an American icon- Ronald K.L Collins & David M. Skover
FIGHTING ALI: Steven Brunt
WITHOUT FEATHERS- Woody Allen
SIDE EFFECTS- Woody Allen
IT'S NOT EASY BEING ME- Rodney Dangerfield
SEINLANGUAGE- Jerry Seinfeld
SERIOUSLY FUNNY: The Rebel Comedians of the 50's and 60's- Gerald Nachman | | Heroes | Lenny Bruce,
Bill Hicks,
Richard Pryor,
Dr. Seuss (let's face it, the man was a genius) |

Mike MacQueen's Blurbs |
About me:
I'm a nice guy, but at the same time if someone offered me a million dollars to punch you in the face, I would. Nothing personal. After the transaction was complete, I might even take you out for ice cream.
|
Who I'd like to meet:
That guy who played Sloth in "the Goonies." I bet he's a weirdo.
