ya know, despite the lack of Yardbirds material (as if they had anything BETTER to play...), it wasn't bad to see these three guys play together at the Forum in '83, the Ronnie Lane Arms Concert. No idea who snapped the photo, bought it at a swap meet, and also no idea why I didn't take better care of it, if I knew enough to purchase the thing. Rarely will you catch me delving in such "classic" rock material. - dom
The Byrds inside Stratford on Sunset, 1965... today it is the lame House of Blues, but these guys are on the precipice; their manager Jim Dickson would use Stratford on Sunset in early '67 to organize The Monterey Pop Festival w/ Alan Paraiser, Ben Shapiro, Derek Taylor, Lou Adler, Michelle and John Phillps, at least. Here, we see the ball starting to roll in spite of the distant future. - dom
Well, I guess I spoke too soon or something because after 30 days myspace finally let me back into my account! So if you get a chance can you replace me again, unless you like the picture of the naked guy playing a tuba on fire in the desert at burningman.... xx P.
Mark, on some old videotape I have, a burlesque marquee somewhere on Sunset says "Thoroughly Naked Mille". - dom Michael Stuart-Ware of the band Love, at Bido Lito's 1966
