On September 11, 2001, life as we knew it would never be the same. In the
weeks leading up to this notorious day, three Detroit-based rappers joined forces
and vowed to change the rap game forever by wreaking devastating lyrical havoc
on mainstream hip-hop artistry.
September 11th not only represents terror, but an awakening of the American
public. The country then realized that their lives of surrealist complacency
could no longer exist and the truth of the world was then exposed. This is the
mission of Natural Disaster: to expose the futility and fluff of mainstream hiphop
and reclaim the reality upon which hip-hop was founded.
After the death of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., the game changed. The
grit was gone. The days of a relatable voice of urban strife and struggle no
longer existed. The airwaves were flooded with bling-bling and hip-pop.
With our originality, dedication and distinctive purpose, Natural Disasters music
will forever alter the consciousness of hip-hop. Our poignant message and
gritty throw-back sound will introduce a new wave reminiscent of old-school
hip-hop called Reality Musik.
