///ENGLISH/// Hailing from the cold and wet Orkney Islands off the North coast of Scotland, Neil's interest in music started early. After having played with numerous musicians in Orkney, he moved to Edinburgh to reach a larger public. He formed or was part of many different formations, trying different styles from folk to big beat. He has played far and wide in Europe from Denmark to Italy. He has recorded with his groups and solo with the indie label Little Nimo.
Today living in France near Grenoble, he is devoted to his music. Talented composer and singer his voice is often compared to Jeff Buckley's, and is clear and sure. His guitar playing is rhythmic and precise. With his new trio, the spirit is still in rock but with diverse influences which intertwine to colour his compositions with accents of jazz and folk.
///FRANCAIS/// Venant des froides îles Orcades, au nord de l'Ecosse, Neil a commence très tôt à s'intéresser à la musique. Après avoir joué avec de nombreux musiciens sur son île natale, il s'est installé à Edimbourg pour toucher un plus large public. Il a formé ou fait parti de différents groupes, s'essayant à différents styles, jouant du rock et du folklore en Ecosse mais aussi au Danemark et en Italie. Vous avez super bien bossé et y'a rien à changer : de la finesse du bon gout, de la réserve, même Cédric joue raffiné avec toi ;-D Bravo pour la dramatique des morceaux et l'orchestration : c'est vraiment de la haute couture ! La 9ème edition du festival Magic Bus est prévue pour les 15 et 16 mai 2009, face à Eve sur le campus de Saint Martin d’Hères. Au programme en plein air et sous chapiteau : 2 grosses soirées concert de 19h à 3h du matin. Une soirée reggae le vendredi avec Lyricson, Daddy Mory, MC Jamalski et DJ Kafra, Saturnes, Milz, Patko et Imaz’Elia. Une soirée rock le samedi avec Fumuj, les Bandits, The Last Rapes of Mr Teach, Bud Spencer’s Clout, Shane Cough, The Easy Aces, Stolensweethearts, Les Bandits et FTG. On vous y attend nombreux!
