An aching tale of love and loss, which cannot help but soften even the hardest of hearts. Musically rock influ-enced but with a hefty nod to Oblong’s brand of delicate electronica, Ship On The Horizon features simple electric guitar, bass and drums, layered with drifting, atmospheric pads, which float etherially above the piece. Adam Parker’s soulful and breathy voice whispers intimate thoughts, a private and internal dialogue. .... The track rises and swells into into a killer chorus, which somehow sounds so familiar on first listen, and remains quietly in your mind afterwards. Ship On The Horizon is a song of beautiful sensitivity and insight. An aching tale of love and loss, which cannot help but soften even the hardest of hearts. Musically rock influ-enced but with a hefty nod to Oblong’s brand of delicate electronica, Ship On The Horizon features simple electric guitar, bass and drums, layered with drifting, atmospheric pads, which float etherially above the piece. Adam Parker’s soulful and breathy voice whispers intimate thoughts, a private and internal dialogue.
The track rises and swells into into a killer chorus, which somehow sounds so familiar on first listen, and remains quietly in your mind afterwards. A strange and sadly uplifting song which will connect with anyone who occasionally feels old and tired, but knows that there’s somehow hope on the horizon.
Oblong has also reinvented the track himself, delivering us the Clear day mix, which features floating, etherial and haunting strings, and the Pique remix, in which Patrick has created immense vocal pads, sampling and reusing Adam’s backing vocals and harmonies, and overlaying glitchy bleeps and beats, wah synths and tremelo basses, turning this song into a reimagined ambient wonder.

It is with great sadness that i announce the closure of REBEL H.Q. our studio in west london .The building is now being re-developed. REBEL H.Q was a very special place - if only the whole world could run as sweet ! No money ever changed hands(except contributions for the electrcity ), musicians/ photographers etc all traded their time for help on each others projects..... what a great body of work got done ... and what fun was had ! !
