Party Ben is a producer, remixer and DJ known for his semi-popular mashups, most notably the Green Day/Oasis combo "Boulevard of Broken Songs" (2004) and the Snow Patrol/Police mashup "Every Car You Chase" (2007) as well as hundreds of other amusing musical bastardizations. He has a terrible DJ name but he knows there's nothing he can do about it.
He worked for years as Creative Director of San Francisco radio station LIVE 105 where he produced the legendary "Sixx Mixx" from 2003-2005, eventually syndicating the show to KJEE/Santa Barbara and 91x San Diego. He's also done guest mixes for XFM London, Oui FM Paris, Radio Bis Warsaw, Indie 103.1 Los Angeles, and Sirius Satellite Radio.
In 2005, Party Ben teamed up with Australian Team9 to produce the Green Day mashup album American Edit under the pseudonym Dean Gray. The album eventually received a 5-star rating from the San Francisco Chronicle as well as a cease-and-desist order from Green Day's label.
Party Ben has been featured as Spin.com’s “Artist of the Day," and has been profiled in the Oakland Tribune, the Washington Post, and LA's CityBeat.
Party Ben is a resident DJ at Club Bootie, the first (and still the biggest) all-mashup club night in the US, currently bi-monthly at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco, as well as a new night, Call In Sick, third Thursdays at Beauty Bar. He's DJed at clubs and special events in Paris, Bordeaux, Toulouse and Tourcoing, France; Liege, Belgium; Munich, Germany; Warsaw, Krakow, and Plock, Poland; Toronto, Canada; Puebla and Monterrey, Mexico; and New York, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Los Angeles, Indio, and all over the Bay Area.
