MySpace Layouts - Taj Mahal myspace layouts Hi friends. I'm originally from Philadelphia. My father was a Quaker and he and my mom sent me to Quaker School. When I was really little I used to play with his guitar and make up songs. The first song I remember was called "Thunder and Stormy Night." It was about buying my girlfriend a typewriter in the rain. My father died suddenly when I was nine, but among other things, he left me and my brother with a love for music. At Germantown Friends School I sang in every musical group I could and continued to write songs. While I was studying classical guitar in college I also toured with Kate Taylor (who happens to be James Taylor's sister!). I played guitar and sung back-up for her, mostly around the East Coast. Through Kate, I met and played with a bunch of great and well-respected musicians, performers and songwriters like Joel Zoss (check out his profile). During summers my trio rocked out on Martha's Vineyard where we could play lots of shows every week and I could also accompany Kate Taylor. Over the course of the last five years I've released four independent albums. The quality of the albums changed dramatically when Gordon Millsaps began producing and engineering the last two albums ["Notebook" (2005) and "What Lies" (2006)]. Those two albums also both feature the excellent Rigel Byrum-Ridge on percussion. Thanks for reading this far!
Recently I packed up everything and drove from Martha's Vineyard to California and plan to be settled here in San Francisco for a while.

Taylor, I've had your version of "It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday" stuck in my head for a month in a half. I sing it while I'm hiking and then later when I'm stargazing. I just realized this might all sound way too romantic. Fuck it, it's great. Hope you're doing well.
Stopping in to jam out a bit. Hope Cali is treating you well. I am aboutto head back east for a while and then spend some time out on the road. Let me know if you ever need a lighting guy. I am like to work with theater lighting. I could tell a story through 65 in December... Anyway, take care brother...
What up Taylor... Stopped in and jammin amy ass off to 65 in December! How can I get that record? I still jam to your Prine video as well! Did you ever tell Lucy about her #1 fan? lol... Take care brother.
Hey there Mr Brown - Hope all is well in your world. Still following your path and happy to see you out there doing your awesome music... Wondering if there is any chance you can allow me to share a link to an important awareness and fund raising event Safe Haven (the program me and my friend Dave run that serves young people with HIV and AIDS here and in Africa) is hosting this month?
It is called "Keep the Light Alive" (http://keepthelightalive.org) Dave Butler, Founder of Safe Haven will bike and run from Albany NY to Boston MA beginning June 29th to raise awareness of the plight of kids with HIV and AIDS. This will also hopefully be a major fund raiser for Safe Haven. I hope all your friends will stop by the website and read Dave's weekly blog and maybe even make a donation to the cause. Thanks Taylor. I really appreciate it. And thanks to everyone who reads this. Tony Lombardi The Safe Haven Project. http://safehavenproject.org
