"Since 2001, singers/guitarists Chuck Cleaver and Lisa Walker have have created an X factor (that'd be their John Doe/Exene Cervenka-like vocal interplay) for Wussy, the Cincinnati quartet that brings bar-band grit to droning, almost jangly guitar rock. As the group prepares for a summer tour in support of its third album, Cleaver and Walker took the time to make MAGNET a mix tape with a broken-record theme: songs they find themselves singing obsessively and compulsively."
WUSSY - (s/t) NEW REVIEWS FROM SPIN & MSN "For exposing ordinary life's flaming weirdness, you can't beat the shabby folk rock on this witty third album.. messy, seething passions in all their juicy splendor. - Jon Young Robert Christgau's Consumer Guide Grade A: This is as brutal a relationship album as Richard & Linda Thompson's "Shoot Out the Lights."...spooked by Appalachian Cincinnati, their country-drone guitars and locked-in rhythm section never give up, not even on the slow ones. -

Female musicians discuss gender, rock & roll and the local music scene feat. Margaret Darling of the Seedy Seeds and Lisa Walker of Wussy (by Samantha Bohnert)
KEXP Seattle: Their most fully realized work on their 3rd and best album yet.. A number of standout songs combining distinctive imagery with dark raw emotion.. Washington Post: Few bands since the Velvet-steeped heyday of the Feelies, Yo La Tengo and R.E.M. have abandoned themselves so completely to the ebbing, flowing currents of droning guitars. Cincinnati CtyBeat: A culmination of everything the band does well. The definitive Wussy release. KEXP Twitter: I'm declaring the new Wussy, self-titled record a masterpiece!
Just wanted to let you all know that I am still amazed everyday by how amazing you are as a band. I adore your music as much, if not more, as the first time I heard it. You still remain one of my very favorite bands.
Any more UK dates planned other than the London one? I was over for SXSW again this year and hoped you may "pop up" there.....but no joy! I'll see you guys one day, mark my words.
Just want to stop by to say thanks for being friends! Keep me in mind if you need any mastering done. All of the info is on my page and feel free to email me anytime.
New tracks are awesome! Can't wait to get me that new album! Wussy's my greatest discovery in years. I'll tell the world, at least that little part I am connected to, every now and then! Cheers! carl (the pets)
