People say our live sets are a varied mix of energetic styles. This could well be due to 2 singer/songwriter/guitarists and a mix of influences ranging from Stevie Wonder to The Sex Pistols. Sted's drumming style mixed with Steves bass lines has definately given our songs a lot of drive, but come and see us and make your own minds up x
The Reason formed in 2003 after bumping into each other at an Oasis gig in Finsbury park, London. Upon their return the four lads started jamming in a local dissused shop basement, learning cover versions and writing their own songs. Drawing on such influences as The Jam, The Specials, The Beatles and various Britpop bands, they started creating their own sound and played their first gig at local haunt The Halfway Inn, Chandlers ford, christmas 2003...
Since then The Reason have established themselves in the Southampton music scene and had a right good time along the way. Having played alongside Squire, The Rifles, Switches, The Jamm, Five O clock heroes and Little Barrie to name a few...
2007 saw the band play at the Hemsby scooter rally (messy weekend) and Liverpools famous Cavern Club (say no more) and probably writing and recording some of their best songs to date...
2008 sees the departure of their original drummer Alki, with good friend Andy George filling in for a couple of months until Dan 'Sted' Steadman took over as his full time replacement...
To be continued...
alright lads. we are down talking heads tonight. a little acoustic thing. our drummer buggered off on holiday and so we are just doing it acoustic but with bass. come and have a listen if you get the chance. cheers xxx

Hi. As you're on our friends list, I just thought I'd let you know that we have a 25% off Summer Time Special Offer on all Acoustic recordings from now until the end of August. That's just £7.50 an hour all inclusive. Also if you're interested in doing any live Acoustic gigs next year, please let us know. Cheers, Glenn and Anne.
yeah it was pretty super cheers. the sound and stuff was shit but it was real energetic and lively, which was nice. dont even worry lads. it will be nice to see you anytime you come along. cheers. georgie harlington x
alright lads. yeah that would be good, cheers. we have just be told that if we want a sound technician we have to pay £20 for it or something, so basically we need to do the sound stuff on our own. pretty shit really. hopefully it isnt too hard? so if you do come along, and the sound is shit, at least we have an excuse ;) hopefully see you there lads, but if not, no worries, there will always be more. georgie harlington xx p.s. i think its happy hour or something they said, so cheap beer ;) If that dont persuade you, i dont know what will...:)
alright there lads. we have a gig this friday at hamptons bar, it would be great to see you there if you could make it, no worries if not. look at our profile picture for details. cheers. george x

Hey Jim! Wanna hear what good company you share by virtue of association? So my friend gave me this Supertramp CD because I told him I wasn't sure if I had ever heard them, and he was like, oh, you'll recognize those songs instantly. So I have the CD on right now, Breakfast In America comes on, and I'm like, where did I hear that song before? And then it pops into my head: The Reason!!! How about that for memory, that was months ago! And I heard your version first! Consider this the highest form of flattery, if you will!
good lads, thats what we lIke to hear! new songs sound promising, so i look forward to listening and stuff. cant wait to hear what sted's made of :) see you soon. all the best george x
