In a seedy late night clip joint just a cigarette's throw from being somewhere safe, euro house polluting the air like the smoke from a thousand stale cigars and cheap french perfume. Talk is cheap and the drunken discussion between friends and strangers turns between manga, music and chosen narcotics for the inebriated minds. Words are thrown and drinks spilled from reconstituted plastic cups. The sun rises slowly over deserted grey streets and the rebecas are born
The Rebecas is a band consisting of 7 members from around the world. Over the past year and a half we have played around 100 shows including Islington Academy, Hackney Empire, Barfly Bsides, 93 Feet East, Metro, Reading Uni, Nottingham Uni, Norwich UEA. We have supported acts such as Babyshambles and our music has been played on Radio 1, Xfm, Pulse Radio, Kooba Radio, Sky Radio, Palace Radio and uni stations over the country. Our music has also been used for Eastenders and a Ewen McGregor Movie. We have had music videos made by Itunes and also T4 Sunday. In late 2006 we were named in the top 5 unsigned bands by NME, we also get good write ups in The Guardian, Metro, Evening Standard and Time Out.
So far we have 4 demos recorded, and with new songs being written all the time, there is definitely more recording in the pipeline.
