Formed in 1997, four Clash fans came together to form Rebel Truce ,with one mission. To fully recreate the experience of The Clash live on stage.
The Clash were one of the most influenttial and enduring bands to burst from the Punk rock scene of 1977, with the late Joe Strummer revered as one of the greatest front men in rock. They had the look, the walk and the talk. They were, without doubt, the coolest, most political, eclectic and thrilling bands ever, mixing reggae, soul and funk with solid rock 'n roll. To many the last great UK hope. For seven years they set the agenda. Their music still remains hugely popular with stalwart fans and new generations of music lovers alike.
Rebel Truce has the visual style and excitement of The Clash, and the same explosive, all action stage presence. The Clash live sound was a mighty wall of guitars, bass and drums and Rebel Truce fully recreate the feel of the original songs and performance, with Jerry in particular delivering an adrenalin fuelled, foot stomping performance that has won over even the most sceptical Clash fans.
With a repertoire of some 50 songs ranging from the incendiary blast of '1977' to the assured swagger of 'London Calling' to the pop sensibilities of 'Should i stay or should i go'. Rebel Truce is a must see, not only for fans of The Clash, but for all lovers of live rock 'n roll.
A few kind e-mails from new friends.
"You guys are f****** amazing, i been learning Clash basslines i always wanted to learn, London Calling and Police and Thieves, the 2 most complicated but i had to crack em so i did last night just for the hell of it! Took a few hours me being only a bedroom musician!"
"Just like to say I saw your performance at the above mentioned venue and having seen the real Clash back in 79, your performance was excellent, a fitting tribute to the legends."
"We were totally blown away with your performance and everybody I talk to at the gig felt the same, so we hope you can come back soon, we will be spreading the word."
"Saw you at the the 100 club on the12th with SPE one word OUTSTANDING! "
I knew this would be a hard gig to call, because The Clash lie deep within me, obviously I had never seen them live..so could this be the next best thing? You bet your ass! cheers REBEL TRUCE
