Formed in 2002 by Solo Artist "The Reverend" Reynaldo Alvarado in the wake of the first DENVER DARK ARTS FESTIVAL, THE RED CHURCH is a hybrid of Human Performance and Electronic Sounds.
Immediately after forming, an EP entitled THE TRINITY DEMOS was released on MP3.com in 2002, and Spring 2003 saw the release of "GOSPEL", a Mythopoetic Goth-Rock Opera in the spirit of such albums as Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime".
The Red Church signed with Statue Records in 2004, to release "HERESY".
Drawing on diverse influences, The Red Church has a decidedly dark sound, although their most recent release "HERESY" is a departure back to Alvarado's electronic roots, with a more Techno-Pop Feel.
In addition to Guitarist "The Apostle" Paul Halldorson, and Keyboardist "The Deacon" Jesse Major, The Red Church is also largely contributed to by Songwriter/Composer "The Prophet" Daniel Cruz.
The 1st ROUND of the PROGRESSION Battle of the Bands is coming to a close. The best bands of the 1st Round are playing the Semi Finals for a spot on our upcoming 2 Compilation CD’s. The Semi Finals are on July 13th, 20th & 27th with the $10,000 Finals shortly after!!!
