   About The Red Rose Cafe
Go to www.myspace.com/philipmorrow. If the weather permits and the oars of our little sailing ship hold, there will soon be all sorts of delights in the form of never-to-have-been-heard-before tales of dances and pirates and boats the size of continents carrying crates of eucalyptus trees and cocoa. As far as this goes, we mean that there may be a new record of songs on the way from the factory and that to accompany this, there may be a flutter of activity in the form of pictures and news and the like. No promises though. _____________________________________________________________________________ If you just can't wait for the next one, The Red Rose Cafe's debut album, 'The New Year Tapes', is on sale now on the iTunes Music Store and on cdbaby.com. ___________________________________________________________________________ If you're lost in the woods with neither spade nor earth to dig with it, The Red Rose Cafe is the pseudonym (hoping that it is the correct term) of Co.Donegal (which is in the Republic of Ireland. That being a small island off the coast of mainland Europe almost directly north of Spain and West of the United Kingdom. Like most places, it has had its fair share of the ridiculousness and the impossible. It is surrounded be salt water and scary creatures of the deep) songwriter Philip Morrow. In August of 2006 he launched his self-released debut album, "The New Year Tapes" in a little theatre called the Balor. ___________________________________________________________________________ Some things that Philip has done over the last year while playing songs that he found on the back cover of his Irish textbook are these : On the 13th of October 2006, he played in the Templebar music centre as part of Hard Working Class Heroes 2006. According to the publicity and the newspapers he was one over 80 acts who played the festival and who were chosen from a shortlist of over 700. A song from 'the new year tapes' was chosen to feature on Matchbox recordings latest compilation album, The Great Indie Comeback which was released in the rather warm spring of 2007. In May of 2007, he is alleged to have produced the debut record of texan Ryan Langlois. If you want to investigate for yourself, you should run along as fast as your legs could possibly carry you to the myspace account of Ryan at www.myspace.com/ryanandthelions. ____________________________________________________________________________ If you would like to purchase a copy of Philip's first record for yourself or for any members of your family/friend octagon of circles you can get it online. We recommend either the iTunes Music Store, or if you still believe in hard copy, cdbaby.com. If you live in Ireland you can get 'The New Year tapes' in Universal records in Letterkenny and Ballybofey Music Centres, Cool Discs in Derry and Redlight Records in Galway.

Yo TheRedRoseCafe,

Sorry bout the group mail (despite your name being cunningly added into the first line. How did I do that?)

Anyways, stuck up some new recordings of songs we did in the album session in Electrical Audio. None of the songs are mastered yet and there are a couple of tweaks here and there to be done but I thought I"d stick em up so you could get a listen before the album is released.

I"m gonna rotate the songs on an as unyet decided basis (weekly, biweekly, triweekly even??) and include songs that didn"t make the final cut. Watch out for them...

The songs up now are There You Stand, This Is How We Play and Home.

Let me know what you think!!

cheers,
Pinky.
