our influences are........Music made from 1600's until the present- The loss and gain of friends and family- The constant ticking of time- Poets, Painters, Sculptors, Novelists, Screenplay writers, Boring people, People who make their own olive oil, good Vodka, Wine, or Beer, Good hot sauce, Beauty, People who work an entire lifetime to buy shit they dont need, A great poker hand, People who work an entire lifetime in order to pursue something, traffic, franchises, mom and pop stores where the people still smile, bus rides across Argentina, people working hard at something, childhood, trying new things, dive bars, swanky bars, strip bars, candy bars, bar chords, and great conversations.
The Refinery is the brainchild of Sacramento singer/songwriter Tom Cianci and multi instrument/producer Clinton Duch- After Clinton Duch's tragic suicide in March of 06, Cianci wrote over 30 songs in the following 3 month period. After burying his friend, Cianci with the help of bassist Jake Cook, made the difficult decision to reform The Refinery. After holding open auditions for several months, Jake Pebbles stepped into play drums and Aarron Moore was a perfect fit for the guitar. In 2006, the band's three song demo was heard by Ed Goodreau of Mission 30 records in Santa Monica. Ed has worked with the likes of Guns N Roses , David Bowie, U2, and many other industry veterans. Upon listening, Ed offered to record the bands first EP. "Heavy Feet" was released in Northern California in April of 2007. In august of 2007 the bands song "Borderline" marked the band's debut on the radio. They have played up and down the west coast in clubs from San Diego to Seattle. They are trying to book a tour for January 2008.

Tom, I listened to the cd yesterday and I was very impressed with the songs, the music, words, singing, piano and most of all, remembering my son. Thanks. Wishing you success on your tour. You guys sound great. Love, Clinton's mom
"What can one say about Tom Cianci? He's a little bit country and a little bit rock 'n roll... except replace country with nuts, and replace rock 'n roll with nutty fukkn nuts." SNR couldn't have said it better.
