During the rise of 'The Regiment' through hip hop, there have been many influences who have had an everlasting effect. Some people say they resemble Outkast mixed with some Run DMC (due to their two emcee, one DJ setup), but maintain their own sound. Basically, any real artist who is true to themselves, down to make real music that we could listen to without feeling disgusted or disappointed has had an influence on this group. Every artist who is hungry or wants to make things happen influences this group. And finally, any artist who deserved a legitimate chance and took full advantage of their opportunity has influenced this group a great deal. 'The Regiment' will represent the new generation of hip hop while maintaining its true value and substance. HIP HOP HAS BEEN REVIVED!!!
Get Familiar: The Regiment
The Regiment was strategically formed by two Detroit artists on one accord. The 23-year-old Hip-Hop veteran, O.S.I. (Original. Soul. Invented.), and 21-year-old crafty emcee, IseQold, make up the reformatted group. The Regiment is equipped with Hip Hop guerilla tactics, focus and determination like never before. The Regiment’s mission is too embark on a journey to bring the life back into the dying craft of true Hip Hop Music and to embrace the legacy of expression at it’s finest. Having been influenced by many infamous emcees and DJs including, but not limited to, Wu-Tang Clan, KRS-One, Blackstar, Run DMC, and the late great J-Dilla, the group decided that it was time to make some noise concerning the absence of art.
The troop understands the everyday struggle of upcoming Hip Hop Artists in Detroit and diligently offers the combined knowledge and talents of “The Regiment” to uplift any and all artists indulging in the art. This group is not only about entertaining, but more importantly they are community activists using positive Hip Hop as a vehicle to deliver empowering and prophetic messages to their audience through the fluid flow of their lyrically gifted team.
Their hunger for True art in its raw form increases their ability to focus in on the four elements of Hip Hop: Graffiti Art, Dee Jaying, Break Dancing, and Emceeing.
