The Reissues are a new outfit sewn from the hides of some of Syracuse’s best original bands of the last decade. Front man and rhythm player Jason Vaughn led the SAMMY Nominated Last American Virgins to the front of the pack in 2005 with a fresh image and a straight ahead rock sound that left audiences begging for more. Jason is a writer of catchy yet thoughtfully crafted songs and delivers a solid and dominating stage presence that earned the band critical acclaim. Also a product of LAV is bassist/vocalist Matt Hampson whose 16 years of live and studio playing experience have made him a hot commodity on the regional front. Matt has most recently worked with artists like Kim Monroe, WAGNER and 12AM. Together again, Jason and Matt are a combo not to be missed when the Reissues debut this spring. While in the planning stages The Reissues had only one guitar player in mind…..they had to have Peg Newell! Peg has been a respected singer-songwriter on the upstate scene for many years, but go back a little further and you would have seen this petite brunette command the stage as a lead guitar player when Rock & Roll was most definitely a game for the boys to play…..Peg Newell left her mark on Syracuse Music history…….. and y'all, she’s about to do it again! After 1 year original drummer Billy Martin has moved to other projects, hitting the skins now is Matt Hotaling. Matt is a versatile and dynamic drummer who has been the staple "go to guy" on the Syracuse Scene. His versatility shows in the potpourri of bands he’s held down the beat for, bands like 12AM, Wagner, Four on the Floor, War of Attrition, John Puma, and the J-Project. Matt Hotlaling has played it all, pop, funk, hardcore and classic rock. Matt Houghtaling is the right fit for The Reissues and they are damn glad to have him!
