BIOGRAPHY
An accomplished 12-string guitarist with a unique finger picking style, Rene Russell has entertained audiences from the East Coast to the West Coast.
A native of Columbia, SC, she has lived in Atlanta, Austin, and San Diego, and shared the stage with artists such as; The Indigo Girls, Danielle Howle, Michelle Malone, Tom Chapin, and Jennifer Nettles Band (better known as “Sugarland”) to name a few.
In the past she has been strictly a solo performer, but now, along with the solo performances, she is adding Gary Hewitt on electric bass and upright bass. These wonderful musicians have lived and played in Los Angeles, Austin and New Orleans in the past 20+ years and bring a new intensity and excitement to an already exhilarating performance.
Now residing in Charleston, SC, Rene has recorded 2 albums and is looking forward to going into the studio to record the 3rd.
