The music is an esential part of my life. About me:
I am Alex, I am a big dork. I like music and comic books, like fat kids like cupcakes. I am super excited for 2009 because of a lady in my life, who has been able to make me happy again. I love my music almost as much as my pet cats. I go on tours, I tech the guitars, I manage the stage, I sell the shirts and scope for the babes that the band get score with (not me though, I am clean). Between music and home life, chances are you'll see me on Twitter, arguing the toss out of anything with my good friend John Holzer Jr. Who happens to be in one of the best pop-punk bands this decade (or ever!?) called Better Luck Next Time, hit them up, tell them I set you ... you'll get some boob action for sure. I love satire and stand up comedy, I constantly watch Brass Eye and Day Today re-runs and giggle like it was the first time. I have some bad ass friends, Piers, who is about to scope out the Taliban and bust a cup in them fo sho. Um, Tommy in California, who, for the best part of my memory, has been a brother to me, through my own petty break ups and mood swings. I am the influence behind most of his musical outings these days (but I won't claim AFI ... all yours buddy). 2009 is looking to be a good year! The band I manage (XMS3)will be flying out to California to record their new album, which I am playing a heavy part in. I also trawl the internet looking for bands who need help or attention from others. I love Green Day and Pop-Punk ... and Fizzy, who makes me happy, check her out and throw shoes at her, she loves that, boo yah! - TechyWho I'd like to meet:
When you have met allmost all the idols in your life, you have no need to 'meet' many more. I have hung out with Motorhead and punched Charlie Simpson, what more can a guy ask? When Dan and I start filming with the BBC, it will be a new medium of stars to meet and greet. Untill then, I am content with Fizzy, a bottle of white wine and some comedy DVDs! Why must you have so much good tastes in music? I can't get enough of the BLNT CDs. They're too awesome.
Write more songs. No wait. Just write that blog about the music.
And I discovered BLNT are playing a show in Long Beach next week. It's only $10. I'm thinking of asking for the day off from work so I can go. At least, that's what their myspace says. It's at DiPiazza's, which is a pretty cool joint. Nice acoustics.

i agree.
yea, the my problem with the new album is, that its so different and complex that it will be hard only to play a FEW songs live out of it.
you know, it is like an opera, even more than AI was. so every old song that will be played during a show just won't fit into it. and the feeling in a big arena will be different than in smaller venues. also i doubt that 90% of the "fans" will get it. they expected another AI, at least the AI fans did.
the old dookie fans expected another dookie. but expect the unexpected. i guess no one thought that 21CBD will be such an album. maybe that's why people think it's not green day when they listen to it at the first time.
when i first heard it i was well stunned. calmer songs and billies complex range of tones he can hit. but actually an amazing development and not being stuck in AI's shadow.
already got 2 tickets but the german sale sucked. ticket shops were only allowed to sell seat tickets -.-
floor tickets were only available via internet by credit card.
they will be playing 2 promo shows here this week. tickets are not for sale either. you can only win them.
that's what i hate. as i know my luck i won't win even one ticket tho i entered 5 competitions to win them -.-
and my musician friends don't get tickets either from their labels. now that sucks haha, so i gotta wait until october.
meh.
but anyways, will you come to hamburg for seeing the show? i guess i can't make it to the london show. no money and hardly get off from work. so hopefully a xan & lydia meet up this year....
