For over 30 years, The Reptiles, Bayonne’s legendary rock band, have been entertaining various clubs all over New Jersey. They’re not legendary because of their long tenure, but the combination of their showmanship and interaction with their crowd. A cover band which plays a variety of music, including blues and rock from the 50’s to the 80’s, their versatility entertains all ages.
The Reptiles are: Founder, lead guitarist/vocalist, Alan Wyles, who has played with greats such as Del Shannon, Tommy James and the Shondells and Mike Bloomfield. Keyboard player/vocalist, Jimmy Carpenter, who has played in Vanilla Fudge, gives the band a unique background with his effects and solos. Bassist, Leroy “The African Prince” Dunbar, gives a solid bottom and can play virtually any type of music. Drummer, Leon “In the Pocket” Zdyb, produces a snap, crackle & pop sound that brings it all together. Rhythm Guitarist/vocalist, “Handsome” Matt Brancatella, provides a solid rhythm and unparalleled motivation.
The members create an untouchable chemistry with their tight sound and harmony. They have a repetitive schedule every month, so they’re doing something right. So if you’re in the area where they’re playing, stop in and get a drink on them. You are sure to have a good time.
