Debuting on Club Nouveau leader Jay King's RCA-distributed label, King Jay Records, Theresa was the Sacramento, CA duo of singer Theresa King and keyboardist Victor Porter. The production chores were handled by King, Denzil Foster, and Thomas McElroy. Their biggest hit was the Top 20 R&B chugging, organ-loop based "Last Time." They also recorded good beatbox ballads: the airy, low-key, electronic congas-pushed "Hurt So Bad," the gingery "Ev'ry Single Night," and the forlorn "Start Again." Other charting singles from the LP were "Sweet Memories" and "What Cha Gonna Do." Foster and McElroy went on to work with En Vogue, Tony! Toni! Toné!, Regina Belle, and Madonna. ~ Ed Hogan, All Music Guide
