   About The Resentments
Started 10 plus years ago as something to do on a Sunday night at the Saxon Pub, a favorite South Austin bar, The Resentments are all seasoned musicians who front their own bands but enjoy the dynamic of being a sideman as well. Using an eclectic acoustic/electric format, they're free to try anything, newly written songs, old favorites, various styles and tunes unavailable to them in their respective bands, switching instruments like it's no big deal. A healthy disregard for each other plus an open door policy for any other friends that happen by, makes the Sunday Evening service at The Saxon Pub a uniquely Austin event.

The Resentments have released 4 studio albums, "Mystifying Oracle", "Switcheroo", "On My Way To See You", and this years "Roselight", as well as a couple of live collections. They are all a delight to behold.

The Resentments:

Turner Stephen Bruton, sadly for all of us here, has moved on to the Spirit World.
He affected us all with his love for the joyous celebration that is music.

'The Fort Worth Panther' played and recorded with Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Barbara Streisand, T Bone Burnett, Maria Muldaur, Marcia Ball, Lowell George, Bob Schneider's Lonelyland, Gene Clark, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Delbert McClinton, Bob Neuwirth, B.B. King, The Wallflowers and the Texas Sheiks.
He had just completed soundtrack work with T Bone Burnett for the soon to be released movie, "Crazy Heart".
His production credits included Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Chris Smither, Hal Ketchum, Storyville, Alejandro Escovedo, and poet Raul Salinas.
Hal Ketchum, Kris Kristofferson, Rita Coolidge, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Patty Loveless, Jimmy Buffet, and Bonnie Raitt have all covered his songs.

His dedication to truth, his love of life on life's terms, and his joy of simply playing music will live on in all of us whose lives he touched, and his chair will stay on stage just in case he figures out a loophole in this afterlife business.

Stephen released five solo albums full of hits, and the latest, "From The Five" (New West) is the baddest of the bunch.

Scrappy Jud Newcomb is still mystified by the undeniable power of Rock and Roll.

He has played and recorded with The Loose Diamonds, Ugly Americans, the Imperial Golden Crown Harmonizers, Toni Price, Ian McLagan, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jerkuleez, and has produced fellow Austinites, Beaver Nelson, Mike Hall, the All Nude Army and Matt the Electrician.
Jud travels light, is unusually friendly, and has put out three solo records:
"Turbinado" (Freedom), is like finding lost treasure, his second release, "Byzantine" (Freedom), haunts the minds of critics and fans alike, and his latest, "Ride the High Country" is a shot of pure moonshine.

Bruce Hughes, the golden child, is surrounded by all eight arms of Shiva.

He has played and recorded with Ronnie Lane, Dr. John, Poi dog Pondering, Howe Gelb & Giant Sand, Teratoma, Ugly Americans, Cracker, The Scabs, Jerkuleez, Bob Schneider, the Texas Sheiks, and currently travels the world with Jason Mraz.
Hughes claims to be a practicing breatharian, has started an all nude army and has released two solo Albums, "shorty" (Freedom/broke-dick), a collection of 2 1/2 minute songs, and
"Bluebird" (Freedom/broke-dick), a sophisticated Southern gothic which is still breaking one heart a week.

John "Morocco" Chipman has a rollicking groove and a jewelers touch, with a voice straight out of Memphis.

He studied mallets at UO, and has played and recorded with George Devore, Marcia Ball, Jon Dee Graham, Walter Tragert, Debbie Walton, Michelle Anthony, the All Nude Army, and has been touring the world the last 2 years or so with The Band of Heathens.... Morocco is a badass, sittin or standin.

Jon Dee Graham, the punk rock evangelist of the group, is currently on hiatus with the Resents avidly pursuing his own career.

He has played and recorded with The Skunks, The True Believers, Calvin Russell, Kelly Willis, John Doe, Michelle Shocked, The Gourds, Ian Moore, Chris Smither, Norway's Hellbillies and Kacy Crowley.
Jon Dee keeps the only monkeypotamus known in captivity in a swamp-cage in his garage.
His solo releases, "Escape from Monster Island"(Freedom), "Summerland"(Freedom), "Hooray for the Moon"(New West) and "The Great Battle"(NewWest) are all critically acclaimed, and his latest release "Full"(Freedom), his best work to date, topped the European Americana charts in 2006.

May I borrow some of YourSpace to promote MyCdRelease?

The all new, all original CRUELTY arrives Tuesday, July 29, and I'll celebrate with a show at Austin's legendary Cactus Cafe.
It's free, aside from the $15 you'll certainly want to spend on the CD.
Raina Rose opens at 8:30 pm, then Southpaw Jones performs in his finest suit, and nothing will ever be the same.

Check out a preview track on my profile page or southpawjones. com.
Thanks for sharing YourSpace!
