  • Bio

The Resistance emerged in early 2009 with musical influences ranging from Death Cab for Cutie, Coldplay, U2, Brand New and Radiohead. This indie-rock powerhouse is comprised of four seasoned musicians from the local scene bringing together a different, yet powerful mix of musical styles and genres. Despite their short time together, The Resistance has built a loyal following that has described them as an indie band that incorporates a wide-range of styles into their music... simple, yet refined guitars with melodic undertones and a warm texture, high energy driving beats to ballad songs with a sprinkle of indie rock riffs, compassionate vocals with a soft voice but an occasional loud declaration of presence and a solid low end bass guitar that gives a rich depth to the overall sound. Their first self-titled EP was released in October of 2010 and their first single, 'You're the One,' has gotten radio play on DC101. "... with booming drums, powerful guitars and heartfelt lyrics, 'You're the One' is an infectious love song that will make you wish it was longer than 2:14."
