Laura Clare is a 22 year old singer/songwriter from Tasmania, Australia. Laura was around creativity from the moment she was born. Both her parents are working artists, her father is a potter and mother a painter. Laura began busking (street performing) at the Salamanca Market in Hobart when she was just 7 years old and by the age of 14 she wrote her own songs. In 2007 Laura was chosen as a contestant on the hit reality T.V. show Big Brother where she was in the house for four weeks. While on the show she sang and wrote quirky tunes to keep the audience and herself amused. After getting evicted from the show, Laura fell into a destructive lifestyle, that included an arrest for assaulting a police officer. In 2008 Laura travelled the world, drinking her way through thirteen countries and writing songs from her experience. While visiting Florence, Italy, Laura suffered a seizure induced by alcohol, then travelled to America to enter an alcohol rehab facility for six months. After her discharge from rehab, Laura recorded a demo (which in her words is "vulnerable and raw") about her struggle with alcohol. "A Year Ago" was written in Laura's drinking days (originally a very dim song). After rehab she rewrote and recorded the song with her now more positive outlook on life. The song "Darlin' Girl" was written about her relationship with her father, knowing he would always be there to pick up the pieces. "Smile" is a song about coming out of the fog and realizing that everything will be okay. Laura is busy touring in the U.S. and plans to be back in Australia at the end of the year to release her E.P.
'smile' & 'a year ago' are cool, although I think 'a year ago' should have like backing & harmony vocals to make it full, but all in all good music, take care

Song: Very Tracy Chapman 'Fast Cars' and other touches. Radio will not sit friendly with it being near to 5 minutes... but i'm sure you have a radio edit. Maybe drop the male echo vocal.
Wow Laura, just ... wow. The song sounds great. Thank you for being brave enough to share your gift.I'm so jealous, I wish I could sing haha. Well I can but, you don't want to be in the area when I do =P
