...taking cues from bands like Uncle Tupelo, and Counting Crows, as well as the more experimental sounds of Wilco, The Reuben James have found themselves in the unique position of making honest, creative, and challenging music...whatever incarnation the music takes, they are bound to either blow you away, or suck you in, but more often than not, both.
The 4 piece has been kicking ass thoughout the northeast for the past 4 years, performing at bars, clubs, and colleges as well as area festivals including Saranac Thursdays, Utica Monday Nite, SUNY Geneseo Springfest, Mountain Jam, Fisherpalooza. They have also shared the stage with such notable artists as Howie Day & Martin Sexton. The bands 1st full length album, Radio Mystery Theater, was released on Telepathic Records in 2003 as well as their sophomore album, "Bang", which was released in early 2005 as well as the 5 - song Up North EP.
As a duo, Jason Schnitt & Ryan Miller have gained the admiration of artists and fans alike generating a following thoughout the northeast, performing extensively both as a duo and solo on the coffeehouse and college circuits as well as a short tour of Ireland. Both are widely respected for their insightful lyrics, emotional performances, creative songwriting, and dashing good looks.
Jason has just released his 4th solo effort Barnstormer on Telepathic Records in 2004 - widely known as a thought provoking, versitle, and prolific songwriter, as well as a talented multi instrumentalist / vocalist.
Miller has released his own solo project Wreckless
Abandon independently in 2004 - respected as an exciting
performer, producer, and songwriter, he has earned himself
a prominent place in the independent music community.
The band is currently in the studio recording their third full length album with a release date expected to be in the summer of 2006.
