ABBA, Dusty Springfiled, Burt Bacharach, Hal David, Phil Spector, Brian Wilson, The Byrds, Beach Boys, Mamas & Papas, Supremes, Twin Peaks, Temptations, Boxtops, Ramones, Rolling Stones, Aretha, Marvin Gaye, The Ronettes, Lovin' Spoonful, The Kinks, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, The Killers, Crosby Stills & Nash, Neil Young, The Raspberries, Elvis, Bobbie Gentry
The Revelations are Annika Magnberg, Sarah Vitorino and Louise Masters. Their classic soulful pop music extends the lineage of the great girl groups (Ronettes, Supremes, ABBA) while drawing on more contemporary influences, such as the Scissor Sisters and Sugababes.
The girls made their live debut at Alan McGee’s legendary Death Disco club night, before playing the traditional London gig circuit. This led to a limited edition single release on the Fierce Panda label (also home to debuts from Coldplay, Keane, and Oasis) which attracted national airplay.
Until recently, the girls ran their own club night at the Notting Hill Arts Club on the first Sunday of every month where they performed a residency and DJ’d alongside their guests. Visitors included bands like The Killers, Stereophonics, Suede and The La’s.
In January 2007, The Revelations single, ‘If I Called You On The Telephone’, released through their own label Crazy Dancer, was A-listed at Radio 2 and playlisted on more than 20 UK regional stations. They also performed live on Channel 4’s The Tube and appeared live on Soccer AM.
Their last single, ‘Baby, I Want You To Know’, made the Radio 2 playlist during the summer and is taken from their self-titled debut album, which was the first album from an unsigned act to be picked as Radio 2 Album of the Week. The album is available on iTunes.
The girls are looking forward to bringing their own brand of soul-infused pop to the Eurovision audience with a fabulous new song, written especially for them, called “It’s You”.
Evenin girls, Just wanted to say it's such a shame you didn't get into the Eurovision final. I even voted for you :D :D. Your songs are great and u r the UK's answer to ABBA. Keep up the good work - Would be great to see you at Eurovis again!
Hello, and welcome my friend! a gracious sound arriv'n with ya, a brilliant, majestic sound, reveal'n many joyfully flow'n octaves of life, aris'n from deep within! a sound, whisper'n with the strength of flow'n rivers like Niagara, the spirit of BB King, immers'd in Mozart, thro' the toes of Janet Jackson, danc'n over a crisp season'd violin. Gather'n around us, to then meander thro' us, celebrat'n. Even The Lord-of-the-Dance, hopes to compare, but steps off, with only a portion of talent compar'd! For this sound, sure to be as excit'n, as a newly spun colorful coat, announce'n a spectacular unveil'n new hope! A sound, reach'n out as a silky ocean melody, creatively unfold'n its illustrations thro' the rivers of our canvas, as it permeates like a preserv'd red wine, that brings laugh'n oxygen to the desert of ones soul! To then, create as it calls forth thro' a whisper, life arise... This sound, out of a young queen, through a woman, to reveal a symphonic aris'n destiny, hidd'n for season, now reveal'd, will always be, believ'd! your friend Robert Foster
