Sounds Like
We sound like a band that grew up listening to rock and roll, but tend to play a lot of older songs from the 1940's and 50's. We also will take songs more recent than that and make them sound older.
WWW.THERHYTHMCATS.NET CONTACT: ALAN@THERHYTHMCATS.NET The Rhythm Cats are a Napa Valley band that plays swing, jump blues and early rock and roll. Their repertoire includes songs from the first half of the twentieth century by artists such as Louis Jordan, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis, but they will perform songs from just about any era. Songs by Jim Croce, Lyle Lovett or even Pink Floyd will appear in their shows.
The band was first formed in 1995 by Alan Parks and Jim Adamson when their previous band, Twilight Memories, broke up. They started out as a duo, but started adding more players as the need became apparent. They now perform as a five piece band, but often go as a quartet, trio or, even still, as a duo.
The Rhythm Cats have performed at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, the world's largest traditional jazz festival. They have also played at the Napa Town and Country Fair for more than twenty years running as well as various festivals and private events throughout the western United States. They are a current favorite at the Napa Downtown Farmer’s Market and the Napa Downtown Chef’s Market.
They have been featured as an opening act for bands such as: Tower Of Power, America and Paul Revere and the Raiders. Two CDs are available at their shows; Is This Thing On?(1999) and Angora Fedora(2003).
