The Rifle Volunteers first recordings are nothing if not a statement of intent. A clear and concise approach to arrangement and an ambitious taste for new instrumentation starkly inters the bands position….
This is music composed with the word ‘song’ firmly in mind.
The band met touring with previous musical outfits on the hardcore and noise circuit. Having trawled Europe’s countless venues these projects came to what can only now be described as an inevitable end.
Spurred on by a mutual disdain for an increasingly shallow medium, the band began writing together in 2007.
Wistfully uniting dark melodies, poetic lyrics and group harmonies the band produce an intense and broody brand of pop which reflects their current musical standpoint as well as their vision for the future.
