The Riplets have existed since 1998 and started performing in 1999. They opened for bands like Dee Dee Ramone and Dead Moon. In May of 2002 The Riplets recorded their first full-length, Rock ‘n Roll Beat with producers duo PeVi (Vincent and Perry of Travoltas). This debut album was released on My First Sonny Weissmuller in October, 2002. With an album out, The Riplets started to gain more and more recognition and media attention. The album got great reviews, and Riplets interviews were featured in every major music magazine in Holland. Besides all the good reviews, the album also did very well in magazine and radio charts. In 2003, The Riplets played and played and played. They opened for Sum 41 in a sold-out 013 in Tilburg and played at a variety of festivals during the summer. Besides Holland, Belgium, Germany and Denmark, The Riplets can now add America to the list of countries where they’ve performed. With the help from some friends, Janneke booked The Riplets’ first U.S. tour, from September 18th through 28th. The tour consisted of 8 shows, 4 on the East Coast and 4 in the Mid-West. After the U.S. tour The Riplets went straight to the studio to record their second album. Love Special Delivery Boy was recorded at “The Void” in Eindhoven. PeVi joined the Riplets again to produce the record. This record was released by U-sonic, the label of distributor Sonic Rendezvous. This cd features a new single: the cover Hey Mickey. In may 2006 The Riplets recorded one of their new rocking and rebellious songs: Love U Rock 'n' Roll. They released it on a split 7". On the pretext of 'No budget that's what real Rock 'n' Roll is about' the band recorded a video to Love you Rock 'n' Roll. And now The Riplets are rocking out on stage with songs from their new album ROCK. It was released in September 2007 by U Sonic and recorded by Jaqcues de Haard in Waterfront. As you can read in the blog some reviews are more than good (just f...... great) and some think it's to much rock and they miss the cute girlie stuff.... Well, we just love to rrrrock. This summer (2008) we've been rocking for ten years... Maybe it's a stupid decision but: we quit. Right now we enjoy playing our last shows.
