The River Empires began with an idea during a sleepless night. Whether the exhaustion looming over and pressing down upon Jessy's heavy eyes was nonsensical or extreme clarity, one thing was for certain: it was a terribly frightening judge on reality.

Woodsy, dirty, sweeping and lush - the debut record, loosely and unconvincingly entitled "Epilogue" - released on or around April 6th, 2010.

The River Empires plays in clubs and theaters with the full 8 instrumentalist group one weekend, then stripped down - a few of the writers playing mandolins and acoustics on backyard porches, the next.

The River Empires, claiming by the creators to soon be a movie trilogy, yet the group being unable to successfully update their fans and networking sites on a daily or even weekly basis. The band went close to going bankrupt just to record their debut album in 2008, spent the last two years pulling themselves off the ground and out of the financial red zone, yet proclaim a future of six additional full length records that soundtrack the not yet created films.

Ambition, fear, sleepless nights - doubting the future, striving for the impossible - success, hope, failures - ridiculous and lofty proclamations, humble and fearful steps in the dark - known among their small group of friends, unknown by the public in general - words of praise by some, spouts of criticism by others - down home country, bluegrass, pipe smoking, long haired trouble makers, yet classy, imaginative ladies and gentlemen.

All of these things yet none, The River Empires is a here today, gone tomorrow, appearing again soon after, then mysteriously disappearing once again.
