   About Rivers
RIVERS – By Kate Welham (The Fly/NME)

In a styled and spun age, Rivers are truly what we’ve all been waiting for: that breath of air so fresh it reminds you why music is such an intrinsic part of your life.

Rivers’ greatness lies in the content of their songs, in the references to sentiments that we can all relate to, whether it be tangled relationships [‘Can’t Let You Go’] or that special someone we can always rely on [‘There Are Angels’], or the positivity call to arms that is the bands new single ‘Shine’, and this manifests itself both through the band’s command of its audience’s attention at gigs and in their ability to capture the hearts and minds of listeners on record.

The band aims to make music that pays homage to the bands that have gone before them and inspired them to follow in their footsteps and sound-tracked theirs lives so they can then do the same for their fans, bands such as The Stone Roses, The Strokes and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Having played with The Pigeon Detectives, The Noisettes and Milburn amongst others, the band have been spending time in the studio with Pigeon Detectives/Cribs man Andy Hawkins as they get as close to capturing the essence of their amazing live shows as possible. And with ‘Shine’ and its B-side ‘Take Me Home’, they have certainly done that. They will be going back into the studio in January to record 4 new songs which may be released as an EP later in 2009, this will be followed by a UK Tour, visiting a town near you.

REVIEWS
Yorkshire Evening Post of Wustock 2007 performance:

"Whenever you watch Rivers it feels like we and they are on the cusp of a revolution. 'There Are Angels' should be number 1: their performance feels like a piece of genius"

Ben Bradford

LeedsMusicScene.net review of support slot with Milburn:

"Rivers bring straight up Rock and Roll/Indie-Pop to the table. The new single sounded like it had potential to be a possible anthem in the making and the crowd certainly gave their approval as there were chants to be heard towards the end"

Nick Appleyard

LeedsMusicScene.net review of support slot with Nikoli:

"It has to be said that Rivers' energy and passion shines through especially on songs like 'There Are Angels' and 'Where Are You Tonight'. They finish with a drunken ode to a mate's birthday ('Girl') and final stomper 'Coming Home'. All top stuff and all good rocking fun. Singer Jack and bass man Rob make an interesting combination. Jack is like the Tasmanian Devil, spitting out rock tunes which cross over from The Roses and Oasis to, surprisingly, Pixies and then back again. "

Chris Woolford

Sandman Magazine's demo review:

"On ‘There Are Angels’ There are some really nice ideas and there’s some really clever vocals, a quality chorus, and some good hooks. I can just picture the band playing 'Girl' live and everybody just being totally enraptured in the performance""

Sean Davey

This is Ull's demo review:

"Somewhere between Iggy Pop and The Editors, Jack's vocal, immediate, feels warm and meaningful and the guitar section, two thirds in, captivates with every rising note."

Michelle Dee

This is Ull's live review:

"'There Are Angels" tells of a sentiment that we can all relate to, "Come on keep it together, I know we'll be alright..." this one flies off the stage. It was like watching Wily Coyote after eating a handful of Acme earthquake pills. Rivers played a lively set and are definitely worth a return gig. Come back to Hull and sing more silent songs to us."

Hi there!!

If you are interested on recording your LIVE SHOW don’t look any further.

We are the BEST and CHEAPEST way of tracking your show on to Pro tools.
From Big gigs to small venues we can adapt to your requirements.

Get an excellent sounding live album, even if the sound on that night wasn’t excellent, because we record a separate signal , so what goes to pro tools is a completely clean and unprocessed signal, ready for us to mix down.
