Jake and Scot got bored and posted an ad on the internets and met Andy Doran. Scot and Jake (also in The Richards) and Andy Doran (ex-Friendly Enemies, The Klopecs) practice at the Quadruple Double Duce house in North East Minneapolis and are learning how to be a band. It was fun. Then I had to move home to Benson, Mn. That's how this became the collective it is today. Everyone involved is welcome in the writing process and practicing. Whoever is available plays the shows, and eventually will hit the studio. It's really all just about getting shows down right now. Everything else will come when it comes. I just really don't want to work construction forever. It sucks.
About our band name:
The West Memphis Three are three men tried and convicted for the murders of three children in the Robin Hood Hills area of West Memphis, Arkansas, United States in 1993. Damien Echols - the alleged ringleader - was sentenced to death. Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin were sentenced to life in prison. The case has received considerable attention. Many believe the arrests and convictions were a miscarriage of justice and that the defendants were wrongfully convicted during a period of intense media scrutiny and so-called "Satanic panic". The defendants remain imprisoned, but legal proceedings are ongoing, and as of July 2007, new forensic evidence is being presented in the case. A status report jointly issued by the State and the Defense team on July 17 states, "Although most of the genetic material recovered from the scene was attributable to the victims of the offenses, some of it cannot be attributed to either the victims or the defendants." On October 29, 2007, the defense filed a Second Amended Writ of Habeas Corpus outlining the new evidence. A hearing is pending. For more information, google it or check the wikipedia article.
