THE ROCKETS have finally been launched and the wait was worth it. From the first moment this band ripped out its first riff, it was clear something special was manifesting, something that is growing with a tangible sense of momentum and buzz. Like the bastard son of JET and BRMC, this band mean business and they are coming for us all. Armed to the teeth with an arsenal of hard rocking melodic anthems, THE ROCKETS will infiltrate your headspace and drop a devil horned bomb inside your brain! Formed just over a year ago, the band have been busy writing songs and developing their sound: Sexy guitar licks and groove laden bass-lines inter weave with pounding drum beats and a powerful melodic vocal delivery to produce a heart-racing yet delicate tidal wave of addictive roof raising rock. Well aware that attitude and conviction are equally as important as writing a killer tune, The Rockets have all these and more on a scale that you just cant measure. Now with the help of the ESCALATOR project, the band will be heading into the studio with Russ Russell, producer of TheWildhearts/Ga-Gas to record their debut EP. Its sure to be an instant classic.. Saturday May 23rd "The Bad Shepherds play punk songs on folk instruments. Not as a gag, but because we really like the noise. We think the songs are better than people remember. We love folk instruments. It works. We do songs by The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Stranglers The Jam, Sham 69, The Undertones, Talking Heads, Squeeze and others, even Kraftwerk! Alright, they're not all punk, but they come from roughly the same era. We've mostly given the songs a kind of Celtic feel, and we've stuck in the odd reel and jig here and there.
