Dance! Dance! Dance!
Think Blondie. Think Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. Think of a dance party hosted by a band made up of a hand picked group of talent from past Oklahoma favorites The Mimsies, The Stellas, The Flood and The Hannah Wolff Band...
this is The Romantic Disaster.
Produced and recorded by Starlight Mints' Allan Vest, The Full-Blooded Fool EP was released on Valentine's Day 2009. The band has scheduled a summer tour to support the upcoming release of their second EP, also being recorded and produced by Vest.
Collectively, the members have played well over a 1,000 shows in their careers. This newly formed group began performing live in October 2008 and has already been very active in the midwest music and art scene. The pounding rhythm section of Bobby Rad (bass) & John London (drums/programming) compliment the slick, upbeat melodies of Hannah Wolff (vocals/guitar/synth) and Jerod Vance (guitar) to produce infectious, synth & dance based pop/rock.
The band has been a part of such events as The Girlie Show, The Rock 'N Roll Garage Sale, Momentum 2009 and Oklahoma History Center's "Another Hot Oklahoma Night." The Romantic Disaster has also opened for national acts including Shiny Toy Guns, Riverboat Gamblers and The Donnas.
Local media has also been showing much love to the band. They have received press from the Oklahoma Gazette, Look At OKC, the OK43 Rise & Shine morning show and the Chicago Indie Music Examiner.
Radio? Yep, the band has already been featured on Spy Radio and University of Oklahoma's The Wire radio station.
