Influences
Phish, Steely Dan, (Cake), Led Zeppelin, Ozric Tentacles. In addition, our instrumental work draws heavily from influences such as Pat Metheny and Bach.
We are a group of 4 college students who simply want to make good music to dance and sing to. The band consists of a bass, two guitars and drums, and on occasion we feature the Roofettes, our two lovely backup singers. Our primary influences include Phish, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin and the Ozric Tentacles. In the future, we hope to focus our song-writing in a more serious manner, incorporating extended improvisation, and more subtle, Tom-Marshall esque lyrics. In the meantime, we're just getting used to co-existing as a band and so our ever changing setlist of original material is (we hope) a reflection of the growth occuring between us. Please check us out and send us some feedback if you enjoy what you feel is, at least, the foundation for a great musical vibe.
Hey there Rooftops, FGC’s rockin’ the ’burbs the next couple weekends, with a free outdoor show at Northwestern in Evanston this Sunday, and a performance at the Clearwater Theater in West Dundee next Friday, where we’ll be giving away tickets to Summer Camp Festival! Hope to see you out at the shows!
Dave, sorry to take so long to respond. The point of writing is to learn, damnit. Perhaps that's not profound enough but it's become a resounding truth for me. When are you coming home? I need you to visit me for a week, OK? I'm not kidding. I have a great studio in Edgewater.
Dave! I'm so glad to hear from you. I think about you all the time. Tell me all about Thailand! Are you writing more? I've been great, I just moved to Chicago and started a new job a couple months ago. I've read some of the book - have you read Kavalier and Clay? Why are we holding ourselves back from these masterpieces?

You really are having the most amazingly-liberal college experience ever. Do you remember when you weren't sure if you even wanted to go to Coe? I just knew you were going to love this period in your life. So without any further ado, I TOLD YOU SO! Anyway, I too am getting the itch to study abroad, except I'm not in college and don't have much money so I'm contemplating getting a job in Quebec and (finally) learning French that way. Asia sounds awesome...Do you think you could make a stop in Ethiopia for some delicious raw meats? Also, Thailand has quite a sex tourism industry, mister.
but so extremely delicious. kind of like buttery theater popcorn. the butter coats the roof of your mouth. let's go see "bee movie." i need my popcorn fix. loves....
asia! hot diggity. um anywhere in particular? or just asia in general? it's pretty big, i hear.
looking forward to the sweater. italians are picky about their sweaters, so no luck there, but there are so many awful hairstyles! i love it. my friends eric and mark donated a few pages of their sketchbooks to hairstyles only. it's usually some kind of combo between any of the following: afro, dreads, mullet, buzz cut, bowl cut, mohawk.
Dave that is awesome! I don't actually have MTV, but I wonder if they'll post it online? Try to run past the camera with a peace sign and a goofy expression, if you can. :)
yeah i'd like to. we gotta keep our eye on the weather, and theres a big Missouri game I want to see on Saturday night. So we'll figure it out..are you coming in though?

hey buddy. so yesterday i was really busy at work...trying to remember drink orders for three tables and i look up in confusion and guess who is sitting with his family enjoying a nice dinner? None other than Mr. jeff tweedy...with his entire family! Ha! I met all of them after they finished...and he signed my ticket from the last show i saw! It was by far the best day of work ever. :)
dave! that sounds wonderful. my antics are there, in spirit. this weekend i spent the night sleeping on top of a tower in a medieval town. it was cold, but very worth it, and way cheaper than a hostel. i'm pumped for the sweater! the italian postal system is completely unreliable, apparently. maybe you should sport it until i get back?? it will be a glorious ray of sunshine in the bitter iowa cold! can't wait to see it.
what's new, how are you? and how IS mr. ward? haven't heard from him.
