About me:
OK here it goes.
I have been playing the guitar and composing music since 7th grade. A 3-song demo tape that I made with some friends attracted some interest from a number of regional newspapers and magazines as well as MCA records. One of those zines, Tail Spins Magazine, I began writing for, and was an Associate Editor for a couple of years. I also sold advertising space there and for another mag in the city. We hosted a few concerts at the Metro. From there I promoted and did fundraising for a couple of festivals including the Chicago Underground Film Festival for two years. My interests as a performer broadened and I took classes at Second City for a year and a half. Some time later that was followed by taking classes at Improv Olympic for another year and a half. Meanwhile, I studied voice for 6 years and developed a 3.5 octave range. I also interned at Waterdog Music, a record company in Chicago for over a year and have been a member of EARS, a professional audio recording society since 1998.
More recently, I recorded and independently released my 2nd CD, placing it into 23 stores. You can listen to some of that music on my website here
For fun, I visited Amsterdam in '05 and performed at Boom Chicago at their Improv Jam, and loved it. You can read more on those adventures here
In '06 my friends Jon Chambers and Jace Deagan and I all got together in Alma, Colorado, which is the municipality with the highest elevation from sea level in the country to record an ambient album. Some of that music can be heard here
These days when Im not debugging my home studio, I swim a mile twice a week and party on the weekends.
My sense of humor can be an acquired taste, however, people who know me say Im the funniest person ever... or something to that effect.
